MoneyWiz 2026 Personal Finance

Betaal voor de ‘dure’ variant. Hiermee synchroniseert de app met je bank.
Twee chronische problemen.
Zelflerende vermogens zijn zeer laag. Ik moet enorm veel handmatige correcties toepassen.
De bankverbinding geeft zeer veel storingen. Al jaren.
Waarom dan toch moneywiz.
Ik gebruik de tool voor mijn boekhouding/financiele planning. Heeft daarin veel mogelijkheden. Dat is waardevol.

Ik ben erg enthousiast. De eerdere versies waren al goed, maar het wordt steeds beter!
Goed overzicht, betekent geen onaangename verrassingen op termijn in deze moeilijke tijd

The app seems robust with tons of useful features. For people starting off on account tracking journey this is a great tool.

In my case, coming with years of data I would like to quickly get started by importing everything quickly. I managed to align my import file to work with this app and I am mostly successful.
But importing 70+ accounts over a decade implies manually entering currency and account type for each of them! Why cannot currency be picked up as a field?
How is import/ export of Investment accounts done? What is the point of surprising us with automated budget generation. Why not extend this facility to detecting recurring transactions instead?
There is no reset button in an app, nor a delete my account in case we chose to do this at some point in future. I feel there are many such questions and concerns for which the devs can come up with easy fixes.

Does a lot well and has a pretty clean design although a bit outdated. It’s a bit slow with syncing but so far I like it a lot. It has way more features than most other budgeting apps or expense tracker apps that look a lot fancier. It sometimes has difficulties detecting the right payee but you can easily adjust it yourself.

Ik heb lang gezocht naar een vervanger voor Microsoft Money. Money Wizz voldoet aan mijn wensen. Categorieën en Sub categorieën zelf aanmaken en wijzigen. Ik gebruik de simpele versie, zonder online bankieren, zonder budgetten. Handmatig mutaties invoeren, voor sommigen een crime, maar voor het bijhouden van het eigen huishoudboekje bevalt het goed. Je houdt de grip en het kost weinig tijd. Makkelijk dat er een pdf of foto bij een transactie kan worden toegevoegd. En dat er de mogelijkheid is voor bulkwijzigingen. De historische overzichten zijn goed, maar er zitten wat onvolkomenheden in. De grafieken zijn niet echt bruikbaar en ook niet zelf te veranderen of weg te laten bij een overzicht. Het programma doet het prima op mijn Mac en iPad, dus al met al een hele dikke voldoende voor een redelijke prijs. Chapeau

Have been using MoneyWiz for over 7 years now. I'm a heavy user and really appreciate the intuitive UI, the capabilties to import data directly from my different bank accounts and the reporting capabilites. Happy customer here!

I have recently downloaded wiz to get a better overview of my expenses, linked it to my bank to retrieve data and noticed all transactions had to be manually categorized, which is just absurd. So I tried to delete my wiz account and permanently delete my data through the app, however that’s also not possible! You actually need to send an email, which already compromises my privacy, and ask them to delete your data so I’m not very happy at that.

Just great, smart sorting, seamless connections with banks for updates, customizable......

Very good program for tracking expenses and monitoring investments. The help is very extensive and useful. And if you cannot find it, support is glad to be helpfull

I'm looking for a software that can replace iFinance for me. Unfortunately MoneyWiz is not it. A few reasons:
- Main issue: I've got ~10 years of transactions (CSV shows ~35k lines), the app becomes just unresponsive even in routine operations - scrolling through list is stuttering, 0.3 frames per second. I suspect this is because of syncing, but can't confirm that...
- Creating new transactions requires a lot of clicking. I don't want to spend time typing in three-zero-zero-zero when I just need to enter "30". I don't want to press "Tab" 3 times just to select a category. Luckily Cmd S saves the transaction, so I don't need to reach my mouse to click "Save", but that's just negligible, comparing to other slow-downs in the process
- Expense and Income are separate tabs. Glad I can enter "-50" as an expense and it becomes an income - that's how it should be done from the beginning, no additional tabs whatsoever
- Setting up transfer requires a separate type of expense. Why? Why can't I choose account in the same "New transaction" screen. Or leave it empty if it's not a transfer
- Minor detail - I liked that in iFinance I could create folders for accounts within folders. I can just create top-level folders in MoneyWiz. Not a deal-breaker obviously, but a nice-to-have thing
These are main issues I noticed while trying to use MoneyWiz. Unfortunately as I mentioned above, the app is barely usable for me. With many transactions app is just not responsive at all
What I really liked and didn't expect is that sub-categories were imported properly, however, since I imported multiple accounts, in some accounts categories were parsed properly, in other accounts they were parsed as description, in others they were parsed as both...
Also worth mentioning that importing is not very straightforward, but that's not on MoneyWiz, I guess - iFinance exports everything in CSV and it's not standardized obviously.

I have been trying a lot of finance/ budgeting apps in the App Store before. I found this app (iOS/ Mac) to be top notch. The amount of details put into schedule transfers alone makes it a cut above the rest! The primary criticism is that I did not find categorising budgets as income/ expense based as very intuitive. The impossibility to classify transfers under a budget, makes adding scheduled transfers burdensome. It paves way for many workarounds to keep the budget maintained. The end result was that all the reports (which by the way are the best I have seen across apps) are all incorrect for me! Maybe if I spend more time creating budget transfers or split transfers into 2 transactions (expense/ income in 2 accounts) then maybe things will begin to tally. But I am preferring to keep my interactions with these apps to be simple.

It is my favorite app when it comes to features but unfortunately it has annoying bugs and after a while the sync from banks gets almost useless. it doesn’t fetch everything! and it categorizes the costs to invalid categories. All these problems occurred after a month of using the app which was too late since I have already put a lot of time and effort to set it up according to my needs :(

The app looks all nice and good, and the concept is nice. However syncing from banks doesn’t work well. The transaction amounts don’t resonate with what you actually spend

Have been using Moneywiz for years, overall quite satisfied, its feauture rich
I have had many issues with budgeting (for some reason it changes the start dates and everything becomes a mess, have to set it up again and again or even delete and reinstall the app in order to work - maybe the issue is fixed as it hasnt happened for a month).
The support is fast and very friendly but they never managed to solve that issue.
My biggest complain is that the app is still visually unpleasant, compared to other similar apps, this is just a list of accounts, no widgets, no nice insights, no nice graphs no nothing. Its really basic. It gets things done but I do eye similar apps - I really hope they update the app visually.
Never used the sync feauture so cant comment if it works or not.
App available on iPad and macos which is a great advantage for me.

The best program to keep track of your expenses. Automatic downloading from your banks. I use it for private and business. Easy to make budgets.

The only thing I would like to see are some dashboards on the home page instead of this boring list of accounts

Op zich een prima app bij handmatige invoer transacties. Helaas, bij de automatische invoer vanaf de bankrekening worden de transacties niet gecategoriseerd. In ieder geval in Nederland.

Probably this is the slowest piece of software that has ever been written. I use MoneyWiz for maybe eight years already, they often release new versions and with each new version it gets slower and slower, while also adding useless features. Why not writing some code that works and stop right there?
