Net worth
MeerPlease add the Net Worth table (with Monthly Change) to the mobile app. I really need it. Thanks.
5door Hex****04/02/2026No automated cash in/out from bank statement
MeerMaybe it’s different when you’re able to connect a bank from the US. But it doesn’t make any sense for someone from the EU
1door Anoniem30/01/2026Great start, but slow development
MeerYNAB is a great app, and it has helped us massively just to put all of our finances in line. Because it is available through the web and the app, it is straightforward to keep it up to date. Whatever money exchange is done, we have the habit to write it down into YNAB immediately.
However the development of newer features, including ones that make the experience more efficient, are extremely slow in being brought out. There are quite a few Reddit posts about it, so it's not just us. It is also unclear what they are currently developing, which does not help impatient ones.
Just in case this is read by YNAB, here some features that we miss:
make it possible to send money from one budget to another, instead of writing it as an expense in one, and writing it as an income in another. It'd be even fancier if one can also request money from multiple budgets, such as from a shared budget to two personal ones where a shared contribution for e.g. groceries is requested.
show the income that was generated last month, so that it can be used as an indicator for the future. (Currently only expected income is available, which is entered manually. Keep this one, but also add last months income.)
for custom views, in the budget view, with all the categories, show which category is under some view. Otherwise, when adding new categories, it may be forgotten to add them to the custom view, and there is nothing there to remind them.
in the app, make it possible to create new categories in the budget view, and to write details to it immediately. Among other we use YNAB as a wishlist/wishfarm, and when creating a new category, we want to directly write some useful description or links to it. It would also be nice if the text in the details can be formatted a bit.
in the app, make it possible to create multiple shortcuts so that one can open directly one budget or another from the homescreen. Currently one can only switch from one budget to another, but this is slow, and annoying if this needs to be done regularly. It would also help to show the title of the budget or allow to give each budget a colour, to better differentiate between them.4door Mar*******13/01/2026YNAB heeft me gered
5door San******05/01/2026freaking love it
MeerOnce everything is set up it’s seamless. I freaking love it, almost every day I take a glimpse into the app because this method of assigning money works so well❤️
5door Kim****12/02/2025Great but whyyy the creditcard subscription
MeerIt’s definetely worth the price but once you sign up via the web itself it’s just impossible to subscribe by any other means than with a creditcard. You’d think that an app focused on helping you save more money would not encourage you to use a cc anymore than when you absolutely need to. I’m more than happy to pay via apple or paypal but they just won’t let me
2door Mdd*****26/12/2024Year review of what came in and what got out
MeerI really love this app for budgeting it helped me soo much. I gave 4 stars because the only thing I’m missing is a year review of what came in money wise and what was spend through the whole year
4door Sam*****18/11/2024Good app
MeerI adore this app. I use it since 5 months. I think it is fun. It helped me to save money, though I am already rather good at not spending more money then I have and saving. The app is not easy to understand. They have very good explainers and very good helpdesk, though.
5door Pau*******08/11/2024Great methodology and a tool to implement it
MeerLove YNAB, their principles and methodology is amazing, it works for everyone and the tool is only the way to implement that methodology so go to their website first and watch the free videos and content
Love how they promote and create content related to money psychology and improving your personal finance regardless of their tool.
As for the app, it was almost completely unusable for me compared to the web version in 2020 but now it has amazing UX, features and capabilities, though always recommended to start with the website and do the sophisticated things there5door Bod*******22/07/2024Usability
MeerApp is not usable for running cost and income from bank accounts. Assigning costs might be ok in US, but it’s not the way for EU. Too complicated and time consuming.
1door Ben***06/05/2024Love the app
MeerBut unable to continue using it after my connection to a EU bank is closed. I wish I could opt-in to using private beta banks, it’s been working fine for me.
1door Isa*******02/05/2024Was great till
MeerYNAB was a great solution until they were discontinuing sync with European Private Beta Banks from Truelayer. No big announcement or any clear communication. Just finding out Volksbank is no longer to be synced. Thanks YNAB for your great communication…not.
1door Tom*******21/03/2024Worth every penny. This will change the way I manage money
MeerI’m 37 probably suffer with ADD and have never found a way to seriously manage my money. I write list and start new spreadsheets all for them to fail. I have used this app for two weeks only and already know it will be money well spent and it is going to really revolutionise the way I budget. Best to use a computer at first but having the app helps with quick updates and overviews. It will be a long process to get my finances in order, but here’s hoping to more saving and wise informed spending in 2023! FYI check out the YouTube Nick True for beginners to see if this might be for you, he helped greatly in understanding this concept.
Update: I am now a year in and I seriously have seen a massive difference in how I manage money. I feel relaxed about it and totally in control with how I spend it. It takes a little time to change the way you budget but it’s a game changer.
As a freelancer I have just been told a long standing client (95% of my income) is cancelling my contract and without this app I would be seriously panicking. Now I can reorganise my finance and after a year of being wise with money I have a couple of months leeway to find new clients. Happy days, I couldn’t recommend this enough.5door Mol******18/01/2024Worth every cent
MeerIf you’re ready to take control of your finances, YNAB is it. It gives me a clear overview, way more peace of mind, and helps me work towards my goals. I really feel like finances are something I have under control now.
You get the first month free (a full free year if you’re a student!) - then you have to pay, but this is easily my most “worth it” subscription.
The customer support and community is also really supportive; highly recommend!5door Mor*******30/11/2023Best money management app around
MeerThis is the last subscription I will ever cancel. It’s what keeps me financially healthy
5door Tan***15/10/2023Great app that keeps getting better
MeerI’ve been using YNAB since May 2019 now and I love it! It really helped me get a grip on my finances. Haven’t had to ask my parents for a short term loan since ;) I recommend the book too, it really explains the philosophy behind it. (The audio version is good)

5door Mol******02/05/2023YNAB still fantastic after 8 years!
MeerI’ve been using YNAB for 8 years and it’s still great! Their philosophy of educating people above selling a product and their above and beyond service team, I continue to be impressed and pleased. Keep up the great work!
EDIT: Now with more than 10 years of experience using YNAB, I can only say it’s gotten better! They continue to make it easier to budget and listen to their users so very well! <35door Ben*****27/01/2023
