Please add zoom in camera section, for AR translations, I just tried to pinch to zoom camera, because I am a bit too far to read text. Please add zoom in your translator app, because DeepL already added zoom. So it is your turn now, thanks!
Apple, I use your app as your second translator, because if I get strange translation it might be wrong I need to confirm second translation from other app, that is your translator app! I always use DeepL app for translations.

Via the camera, it doesn’t translate Dutch to English… yet it translates English to Dutch! Utterly ridiculous!

When I go to translate with camera, I just get a black screen. Quite annoying, since there’s no option to give access to the camera in settings. The app is useless now.
All happened after iOS 26, where my iPhone now acts like an old Samsung (frozen screen, camera doesn’t open quickly, Face ID doesn’t work properly)
I’m really mad apple did this update without even testing it properly

You’d might think when someone introduces a translate app you’d add some languages or any (!) unique selling point at all. Not Apple. There is no unique feature and the collection of languages is not even bad, its horrible.
Luckily I can change the default translation app. So this app will never reach my iPad or iPhone again.

This app design is outdated and does not seem like an Apple app. But most importantly, its translations keep me getting wrong results which cause me some issues. I haven't had that with other translators available, so I had to switch.
I am trying to avoid Google as much as possible, but translations need to be at least reliable to some extend.

Als iemand hier klachten over heeft dan heeft hij of zij de app niet goed begrepen, vertalen Engelse tekst naar Nederlands is bijvoorbeeld super, en je kunt de vertaalde tekst ook nog kopiëren en opslaan

Ik heb echt niks aan deze app als ik naar Scandinavië ga.
Ik vind dat een vertaal app tochzo’n beetje alle talen wel in zich moet hebben.
En ik heb de beschikking over het meest recente besturingssysteem

Lot of languages are missing. The App needs a complete readjustment from UI to functionalities and supported languages.

Google Translate is beter en heeft weinig tot geen fouten. Zelfs bij *kop of munt* geeft Google Translate niet de letterlijke vertaling (cup or coin) maar de vertaling van het spel (heads or tails) “Vertaal” doet dit niet.

Regelmatig gebruikt om Frans naar Nederlands en Italiaans naar Nederlands te vertalen. Meestal van foto’s met duidelijk leesbare teksten. Vertaling in praktisch alle gevallen incompleet, taalkundig niet lopend en soms zelfs geen enkele vertaling. Ook het direct vertalen van woorden gaat vaak mis.

It needs to support more languages in order to be useful outside of US. Please add Dutch

Werkt hier uitsluitend in de online modus waarbij alle vertalingen via internet naar servers van Apple gaan, waar ik onderweg weinig aan heb. Een jaar geleden werkte de app nog wel eens in de offline modus maar de huidige versie vertaalt zelfs ingetikte woorden als 'hallo' niet meer. En ja, alle relevante talen zijn gedownload maar dat voelt vooral als opslagverspilling.

Ongelofelijk slechte app. Download je alle talen en ben je na een paar dagen alles weer kwijt en moet je alles weer downloaden. bagger. Stop Apple, met die troep
