Swift Playground

You learn fast but they don’t explain everything very well so it can be hard for beginners. It is free with no subscription.

Als ik een nieuwe playground probeer te openen crashed hij steeds. Het toetsenbord werkt ook vaak niet. Erg jammer want het is wel een leuke manier om te leren programmeren

Can create and edit apps, but I cant reopen them. It won’t download lessons, so I can’t even start them.

I recently embarked on the path to become a programmer, and after settling on Swift as the tool for that goal I downloaded this app. The puzzles it presents have helped me learn an awful lot about programming in general and the Swift language. Recommended for anyone looking to do the same.
There are plenty of varied playgrounds to download to learn the basics and, later, to build some more functional apps, including a blank slate to create your own apps.
A star is lost for one reason - the app crashes a lot. Using macOS Somoma or Sequoia on two different M1 macs it can crash a few times a day up to every few minutes, which is quite frustrating. Nothing in particular seems to cause it, the app will just close unexpectedly.

Op het moment van schrijven heb ik de meest recente versie van de app. Ik heb me er gigantisch mee vermaakt om te leren coderen en de eerste paar tutorials waren erg leuk. De UI is super overzichtelijk en de uitleg is duidelijk.
“Learning to code 1 & 2” waren interessant. Ik begon hier echter al wel te merken dat de app heel erg instabiel is. De app crashte vaak en het toetsenbord dat ik met mijn iPad gebruik viel regelmatig uit. Dit was alleen te verhelpen door de app af te sluiten en op nieuw te openen.
Daarna wou ik de “Get started with apps” reeks van tutorials doen maar hier kwam ik nog meer technische problemen tegen. Kennelijk kan de iPad het .swiftpm file format niet openen met playgrounds tenzij je iCloud Drive synching voor playgrounds uit zet. Dit zorgt weer voor hele nieuwe problemen zoals het niet kunnen uploaden van afbeeldingen naar de playgrounds app om te gebruiken voor je projecten.
Heel jammer want ik ben super enthousiast over de app maar er zijn gewoon te veel stabiliteitsproblemen om er voor nu mee verder te gaan.

Elke keer als ik een nieuwe app wil programmeren zecht hij:”Kan bestand niet openen.” Kan je dit fixen please?

Het is moeilijk maar SUPER LEUK je kan heel veel leren en je bent nog maar acht het is heel leuk je leert dingen doen zoals moveForward() en collectGem()het is een soort van spel het is een playground van appel maar wel TEGEK !

Maar na drie keer installeren werkte hij naar behoren. Dit is geen echt review, maar een plaatsvervanger voor de eerdere recensie waarin ik aangeef dat het allemaal niet werkte.

Amazing being able to write SwiftUI code on the go. It would be nice to have the option to run the app on a real device or show it in an iPhone simulation preview! Although the app is buggy (freezes sometimes and auto completion stops working) I think it’s a nice first version with a lot of potential!

Great app to learn Swift but when I’m finished with an exercise I am interested to see different ways of coding on how to solve the exercise. Now I got stuck with the same logic every exercise while I have the feeling that there might be some better options to solve it. I hope this feature could be added

Doesn’t respond properly. Is this (app quality) becoming the new Apple standard?

Does not download playgrounds and gives error message when trying to create an empty one.

I think my 6yo son will love this app, he likes to puzzele and wants to learn programming, but this app is so slow that it is unusable.

Our kids love the app, but hate it because it’s to slow.
A simple program with 4 lines takes over 30 seconds to load.
Please solve this.

At random times playgrounds starts to play music as if the app was running. But it hasn't for hours. Need to start the app, then close it to make it stop (or force quit it).

Leuk om zo de beginselen te leren, maar vanaf de puzzle waarin je met else if moet gaan werken ontbreekt dit blokje om in te voegen. Dat gaat dus niet werken en ik kan dus niet verder.

Spelenderwijs leren programmeren is erg leuk, alsof je aan het gamen bent.
Helaas hoe moeilijker het word hoe trager de app, soms minuten voor hij weer wat doet. En soms crasht hij helemaal.
Van een Apple app verwacht je dat niet.
Misschien is een iPad niet krachtig genoeg maak kan helaas niet op de MacBook.
