The updated 3.7.2 version by Apple fixed the crash bug!

With version 3.7.2 the app won't open (crashes) on iOS 12.5.8. Reinstall doesn't work. Hopefully it is fixed in the next update.

Updated to latest version and opening the app forces my phone to crash and reboot. Can no longer open the app. iOS 12.5.7

Finally found a way to transfer videos to and from my laptop and my iPhone. And quickly too. So grateful that it’s free and no ads.

For years and years now it gives a short stutter in audio when turning phone screen off or on. Had this on multiple iPhones and multiple iOS versions.
The GUI does not look very well in the new apple liquid glass style (i mean in particular the floating panels).

I AirDrop any movies or TV series that I wanna watch onto my telephone for a long trips. Advantage of this media player is that place all video types. And of course it’s open source, and free, so nobody’s taking any of my data.

It always asks to reinput password when browsing any folder and I have resetted the app. Password is correct it’s this app that can’t do its main function

This must be the most unstable, buggy and unusable app in the App Store. And it’s not improving in any way after all these years. Crashes, error messages, unusable transposing and speed changes. What a joke.

I loved VLC for years but it just doesn’t cut it anymore on mobile platforms. Just switched to iOS because of all the annoyances elsewhere but unfortunately the audio quality is extremely bad over here.

After the last update the player on Apple TV doesn’t show title’s of the media, no subtitles available online and doesn’t use the local stored subtitles on NAS where the desktop version of VLC is working perfectly. The audio is also buggy with sometimes loud cracking sound put out the receiver. If you put the media on pause, most of the time the app crashes. Please fix.

İts not a media player but a network media streamer or player. Change name please.

Wonderful app. Plays everything you throw at it. But It doesn’t seem to display HDR it does play HDR downs scaled to SDR, but it won’t display in HDR

Only plays audio not video when using AirPlay.
So, video plays on iPad, while audio plays on TV… happy watching…. Prutsers.

I love the app and works fine for me. The only problem I have is that the iOS app on my iPhone 14 Pro max is not discovering my Chromecast. Option is greyed-out for some reason. Any idea?

Password-protected rtsp stream isn’t working.
Can’t add password in URI, because deprecated, but VLC won’t prompt for login credentials.

Eindelijk! Zonder dat de speler files kopieert (wat dubbele data zou opleveren) worden ze afgespeeld , bijv. vanuit Bestanden of vanaf een USB. Wel de vraag of de automatische sortering van de nummers kan worden verbeterd. Is nu alleen handmatig te doen. Geopende volgorde was nu bijv. 03 05 07 09 02 04 06 08 10 01. Ook via shuffle aan/uit kwam het niet goed.

Love the desktop version, but mobile version is a garbage. It freezes, crushes, loses playback. File search is just unimaginable bad.
At least it’s free

Why is there no option to select default audio and sub language,
no av1 support?
Why can not direct play from external storage?
