Playing music is nice, Qobuz connect is very temperamental though, it mostly doesn’t work

If you think you’ve heard your favorite albums, think again. I recently switched to the Qobuz app on iPhone, and the difference isn't just noticeable—it’s transformative. Here is why this app has become my primary way to listen to music.
Sound Quality: A Total Game Changer
The biggest takeaway? The sound is magnificent. While Spotify is convenient, even its "Very High" setting feels flat and compressed once you’ve experienced Qobuz.
• The Depth: Listening through Qobuz feels like the "vail" has been lifted off the speakers. The clarity, the space between instruments, and the vocal nuances are on an entirely different level.
• True Hi-Res: Delivering files in studio quality (FLAC), Qobuz proves that our iPhones are capable of much more than we give them credit for. It makes every track feel like a live performance.
A Massive Library
There is a common myth that high-end streaming services have "niche" catalogs. That couldn't be further from the truth.
• 99% Coverage: From the biggest global chart-toppers to the most obscure underground artists, I have found almost everything I was looking for.
• Curation: The app doesn't just give you tracks; it gives you the stories behind them, making the browsing experience feel like walking through a high-end record store.
Ethics Matter: Supporting the Artists
Beyond the bits and bytes, there is a moral reason to make the switch. It is well-known in the industry that Qobuz pays musicians significantly better per stream than the "big green machine."
Final Verdict
If you care about music, you owe it to yourself to try Qobuz.

Great overall experience with best-in-class curation and audio quality. Some QOL features are still listing, but the devs are punching out improvement after improvement this last year.

I attempted to get a trial for this and I was charged 20 euros. Very confusing and disappointing.

I love everything about Qobuz, especially their ethics, but please, please, please add folders because my music collection is now a great big mess after importing it from another streaming platform. As a DJ and musician I have hundreds of playlists and I cannot find anything.

I switched from Spotify to Qobuz a few months ago and it’s been pretty good so far. I recommend it if you’re looking for an alternative to Spotify. Here is a list of features I would like to see in future updates if possible:
-Custom playlist covers
-A feature to swipe a song from your history into the queue
-A feature to swipe a song into the queue when you’ve searched it, instead of via the three dots
-A wrapped or some sort of statistics at the end of the year or month
-A better search system; so that if you search a song or artist multiple times it will appear higher in the search results
-A feature to add songs to a playlist via the playlist instead of it only being possible via songs
-An option in your library to scroll through music in tile format in rows of 3
-A broader catalog, personally I am missing the album “Sun child (deluxe)” by Jace Cameron
-Improved daily mixes
-Lyrics under songs
-A better song suggesting feature at the bottom of playlists, with songs that are actually similar to the playlist instead of random songs that you have downloaded or saved
-Less bugs, I often get that it says “An error occurred” or “Can’t download this song”
-An algorithm.
-This may be specific to one album, but on the album “Call me by your name(original motion picture soundtrack)” there are a lot of songs that you cannot play and it says “unavailable”, but when you search the songs they do appear and are playable, this is probably because the album has songs by various artists but I wanted to mention it.
-A feature so the non explicit versions of songs/albums will not appear in discography or when you search for an album, so the original explicit versions are first and non clean versions only shown when searched for
If you would like me to explain some of my feedback more detailed i would be happy to do so. I know that this is a long list but these are all just suggestions that I think would improve the app a great deal.

Niche en Nederlandse artiesten zouden beter vertegenwoordigd mogen worden. Maar wat er is is goed, en de redactionele content en selecties, van echte mensen, maken er echt iets anders van dan de grotere diensten.

Siri don’t work with CarPlay.
Also selecting playlists manually from CarPlay don’t work.
Update needed. Functionality in CarPlay went down substantially.

Switched over from Spotify, I am really happy with the design of the UI. Everything is user friendly and didn’t take long to get used to Qobuz. Music quality is also notably better!

Excellent sound quality. Great user experience. Better pay for artists. No AI slop. Whatever you are using now, just try using Qobuz for one month. If you love music, you won’t regret it.

I have a subscription but the app acts like I don’t. Please fix this issue IMMEDIATELY.

Since last update very often error with not playing songs from favorites. When manuel select songs they do play

Thanks a lot for the CarPlay update, now Qobuz is as usable as any other major streaming app in the car!

The app is great, but I was surprised to learn that signing up with an email address from a small(er) provider resulted in “this address does not appear to be valid”? It is very valid; I’ve been using it for years. Furthermore, I HAVE to enter a zip code and a birthday. And gender!? This is not an option, but are mandatory fields? Bruh.. Someone needs to read up on the concept of data minimization.

Qobuz Music delivers a seamless, high-quality European streaming experience. Its FLAC files provide superior sound quality. The app is intuitive and, combined with the editorial content, a pleasure to use. Since the February 2026 update, control via Apple CarPlay has become exceptionally good. Merci beaucoup, QOBUZ! Making the slow switch to Qobuz from another well-known platform. Transition was OK, but please implement a folder structure.
It all sounds great. But…
All my nicely sorted playlists are in one big pile now and that’s a shame for this app.
This is one of the important features Qobuz is still missing.
I’m also worried about the chatbot answers to almost all reviews. I hope Qobuz (and its parent companies) still take their users seriously and not glide down the greedy path of other streaming platforms.

Good sound quality but not user friendly. CarPlay functions is very bad and not user friendly. Will remain on spotify untill the app is good enough.
