Prequel: Photo & Video Editor

Might be good for pictures without faces in it. But otherwise NO. It puts a filter over your face that makes you look like a different person, and 10 years older. worst of all you can’t take it off and now i paid to look like some random woman.

Forces you to fill in some annoying questionnaire under the pretense of helping you. In the end you can’t save a thing. And you need a subscription. It’s time that Appel cracks down on app makers like this. It’s ruining the App Store

Ads blatantly show advanced spatial AI transitions that do not exist in the app. Misleading. Refund please.

The customer service that replies to this must be an automated/bot. You Cannot be a real person because you've got 60% of your reviews telling you major issues with the app, paywalls, expensive subscription, crashing, work flow & UX.. And all you reply with is "its a free app" "choose a different subscription" "there's free features too".
Come on.. Be real, you're not responding to 1 thing sincerely. Obviously We know it's a free app like all the others. All the other editors are free to download. But we're having to find out we need to pay for a filter 1 hr into editing your picture.
But Why only know that a effect is paid after you applied it and are happy? Other editors don't allow you to use that paid filter clearly.
60% of your reviews telling you the workflow is worse but your bot is replying the same things.
You have to do better to your people.

I have a subscription in the app, I love the filters. However, the app is not reliable. At some point it start crashing so I downloaded it and installed it again. The problem with this was that after the re-install I lost all the presets I made and could no longer use the “use preset” option that appears in the bottom left point of the edited photos in the app. Customer support explained that my presets cannot be recovered since they are not stored in prequel’s server. This creates a big inconvenience since the work for months was lost just because I deleted and installed the app.

I thought I had a free seven day trial period, but I paid immediately with a very small discount for one week. I hate this semi-scam policy. Cancelled and deleted.

1.when a user needs to scroll 3 times to reach basic adjustments you don't understand how users use tools.
2. soo many tools, no structure, flow or landscape mode.
3. hire a proper UX designer and stop thinking that proper UX design is a feature you can add.
4. more AI filters won't fix a bad UX.
5. much potential but if you are charging money and you want long term users. hire a UX designer first. Aesthetic Effects means nothing without basic user interface design aesthetics applied. It takes an artist to design a great tool used by artists.

Since this week I can’t use features like hue saturation and skin tone anymore, they where free to use but now they are pro features? What’s up with that?

The ads with the Dots filter look great, but where are they in the app? I’ve seen multiple people asking for it but no reactions from the developers.

Yes, it comes with a subscription, but I got the 20€ deal for a year to use. It’s a great app to be creative using your photos and videos to share on Instagram. Many templates to use and great AI features. Would recommend this to any Insta user.

They say it’s free and usable without an account but I never found a way to get it working without making an account (they have probablt hidden it very well to make is too difficult).
Also they only disclose that you have to play AFTER making an account (and harvesting your info)
Uninstalled and not Recommended

I used to love this app because there were so many cool filters and effects to use for free. Now there are basically 3 free filters (this is only a mild exaggeration unfortunately) and the rest you have to pay an absurd amount for. They also used to indicate which filters were free and which ones were not. Now they removed that label so you don’t find out which filters are behind a paywall until you press on them which makes the app super annoying to use :( makes me sad because it used to be a great app

In the future, it will be forbidden to extract information from users and force them to create an account before disclosing that payment is required. Absolutely ridiculous.

Ik heb al super lang de app en ik was er eerst helemaal blij mee. Maar sinds kort moet je voor elke filter betalen. Heel jammer!

I used to really like this app. The free version was simple but had everything I needed. However, after the recent updates, almost all effects and filters have been moved behind a paywall, making the app practically unusable without a subscription. If something was available in the basic version from the start, it shouldn’t suddenly become paid. I was actually considering buying the full version before, but after this change – absolutely not. Very disappointed.

Used to be one of my favorite editing apps. Now EVERY nice filter is locked behind an insane paywall + the only free filters available are all terrible and can be done in any other app. Uninstalled after 4+ years of continuous use, never again. Shameless developers

This used to be my favourite editing app! but can someone pls tell me why every thing suddenly has 2b payed for? I literally can’t use any filters anymore dumb move lol…
