Pocket Earth PRO

Sinds ik zo een jaar of 10 geleden een tip las van Jelle Brand Cortius om Pocket earth te downloaden ben ik een zeer vervend gebruiker van PÉ. En ik beveel het ook aan iedereen aan. Beter dan Google Maps oid.
Waar we ook reizen, Namibië of zoals nu Australië ik vertrouw op PÉ

Tried so so many of these apps. Don’t know why I didn’t come across Pocket Earth earlier. A fellow bicycle tourer used it and was happy.
Well, I couldn’t be happier. Ticks all the boxes. So fast, clear, good planning, great navigation. Customisation level high. Low battery drainage. Really stoked about this app.

Onbekend in een gebied waar je wilt biken? Zoek niet langer; in combinatie met WorkOutDoors geeft dit de oplossing voor fietsen in een omgeving die je niet kent. Highly recommended!

Heerlijke, handige app: met mooie kaarten. Ideale antwoord op de vraag: “Zou ik daar langs kunnen?” Of “Waar gaat dat weggetje heen?”.

PE is een geweldige app, vooral vanwege de online kaarten. En omdat je het ook offline kunt gebruiken. Ideaal is de functie ‘dichtbij’.

I paid the pro, I also paid to have the maps but it takes ages to download and it’s not my connection. Even 16MB still waiting to get it. I want my money back.

Deze app is erg fijn. Ik gebruik deze vooral voor het fietsen en wandelen. Mee door Vietnam en Laos gefietst. Ging heel goed.

Offline kaarten is prettig. Kaartbeeld is fijn en rustig. Wat ik zou willen is dat je er voor kan kiezen om specifieke Points Of Interest (POI) altijd (bij iedere schaal) te tonen. Bij voorbeeld bij het plannen naar een volgende camping. Op zich is het fijn dat er informatie verdwijnt als de schaal groter is.

I have used PE pro for years on my iPhone. Very happy with it despite some ui quirks that require getting used to. However I recently tried importing all my data into a new iPad. The best option seemed Pocket Earth archive to me, so I exported all my data on the iPhone to the iCloud Drive.
When trying to import this data on the iPad, I can see the file on my iCloud Drive and select it, but then… nothing, there is no import button or command, the file just sits there and can be selected and deselected, but nothing gets imported. Rather disappointing!

It's a great app. I have been using it for over 10 years, but I worry that the app is dead. The forums are gone. I emailed the forum manager and Pocketearth support - no answer. This way it is not safe anymore to use the app to store routes, waypoints, etc. It may be gone soon? Does anybody have a good alternative?

I know them all, apps that track your route. Apps you can plan your hikes. Apps that you can store your travels with photo’s . Apps that navigate your bike travels. BUT why so many apps. Pocket earth does all and so easy. I don’t know where its limit is but since I started more then 10 years ago i store all my hike , travel stories all around the globe. I plan all my trips by foot bike or campervan. And never got lost not in a snowstorm nor in pitchdark forest. Buy the pro version and be happy.

De beste app die je je maar kunt voorstellen voor een mooie step vakantie. Ik gebruik deze app al jaren. Echt voor elke step vakantie in de hele wereld.

Als ik 1 keer aangeef dat ‘plakken vanaf fotos’ niet toegestaan is, moet dat voldoende zijn.. Maar de app (makers) blijven er over zeuren.. Terwijl een kaartenapp nergens foto toegang voor nodig heeft? 1 ster dus, kan -5 sterren ook?

Gebruik deze app al jaren. Heel betrouwbaar, makkelijk routes maken en navigeren gaat prima. Daarnaast kan de app ook de gpx exporteren naar mijn fietscomputer. Top app

Heel veel gebruikt al. Je moet je even verdiepen in de functies en mogelijkheden, maar dan is ie heel fijn. Het enige nadeel is dat de plaatsnamen vaak niet zichtbaar zijn of helemaal niet leesbaar

The app is great. It would bebeven greater for the developer if earnings would be continued…so I encourage a yearly fee for the app. Go for it!

Heel blij met deze app,hoop nog lang te gebruiken en van te genieten.
Je kunt zo gek niet bedenken wat je wilt bezoeken, je kunt met deze app komen waar je maar wilt.
Een aanrader zou ik zeggen.
