I am - Daily Affirmations

Net als vorig jaar na een update is er alweer geen enkele mogelijkheid om muziek in de app uit te schakelen. Ook verschijnen de affirmaties uit de screenmeldingen niet wanneer je erop klikt en de app opent. Er komt dan een heel andere affirmatie te voorschijn.

Eerst een aantal dagen geprobeerd. Tijdens een donkere periode in mijn leven, dit deed me zo enorm goed dat ik het ben blijven gebruiken.
Ik kan niets anders zeggen dan bedankt! Deze app laat mijn leven weer sprankelen en het donker langzaam verdwijnen!

Very disappointing app. You start out with endless questions, and before you even start being able to use the app you have to confirm a subscription, with only three days of free use. How about a simplified free version like all the other apps?

J aime énormément cette appli. Elle m’aide à me développer et à me reconstruire progressivement. En plus je suis une ado donc avec les cours et tout ça m aide à me destresser. ❤️ donc merci

Had de app geïnstalleerd, maar las daarna meerdere verontrustende berichten in de reviews over dat het een 3 dagen gratis trial is en je daarna moet betalen. Ik lees niks in de intro bij de app hierover? Ik heb gelukkig nog niet op toestaan geklikt in de app dus hopelijk zit ik hier niet aan vast. Ik lees ook nergens hoe je je abonnement kunt annuleren voor die 3 dagen. Ook zag ik in het scherm, waar je daarna op toestaan kon klikken en wat ik gelukkig niet heb gedaan, 1 affirmatie staan die grammaticaal niet klopt. Dan ben ik meteen klaar met zo’n app die niet transparant is over betalingen en grammaticale fouten. Heb de app meteen van mijn telefoon afgehaald.

What a great affirmation app… NOT! I was signed in with Apple, and it said that EVERYTHING was SYNCED and SAVED! But it was NOT! So, now I’ve lost countless of saved affirmations and carefully curated collections. I also lost my streak. So it’s a very good and reliable app. NOT!
Fortunately, I don’t pay the full price for this garbage and when my subscription is due for renewal, I’ll naturally cancel it.
I’m quite sure there are better affirmation apps out there that offer a better and more reliable user experience for the same amount of money or less.

Sinds de laatste update zit er onder verschillende affirmaties muziek. Onder de instellingen zou je die uit moeten kunnen zetten, maar ook daarna blijft het nog doorspelen en het uitzetten wordt ook niet bewaard in de instellingen voor de volgende keer openen van de app. Heel jammer, het voecht echt niets toe aan de beleving in de app en het voorkomt nu dat ik gedurende de werkdag mijn app open voor affirmaties, omdat ik mijn collega’s er nu opeens mee stoor en afleid.

Op zich aardige app, waar ik zonder dat ik het door had ineens betaald aan vast zat. Dat was al onprettig, maar het ergst is dat de affirmaties zo ontzettend slecht zijn geschreven: vanuit het verkeerde perspectief en negatief. Dus: “ik ga niet meer….. zijn” ipv “ik ben….”

You used to be able to create your own custom widget background for free by watching an ad. This suddenly changed a few days ago. I was a big fan of the app before this, but charging a lot to change widget backgrounds is mad.

Easy to use, you can save some affirmations as your favorites.I like that I always receive daily notifications for new affirmations..

Paid for a subscription but wish I hadn’t. I can’t even change the theme of the widgets on my home screen. It doesn’t matter how many times I try, it will not change.

€20 is way more I ever payed for any app (premium subscription) and it doesn't work at all. I get 2 random affirmations a month (?) on my iPhone 15. Contacted customer service numerous times but they couldn’t give me a solution. The offer for a refund for the purchase did’nt work either. Gave me absolutely nothing but headache.

I am very happy with this app! You can ‘like’ the affirmations that fit you and also add your own. And you can make a selection of the ones you get to see through the day - for instance the ones you ‘liked’ plus the ones you wrote yourself - and choose in what frequency. Furthermore, you can choose out of a wide variety of backgrounds to keep the app always new for you. I have the Dutch version and the translations are not always good. In the app itself one category is called ‘Generaal’. Probably this is translated from the original English word ‘General’. But it should be ‘Algemeen’. A Dutch general is always a military figure. Also the affirmations themselves are sometimes translated not so well. There have been several that I would have liked to ‘like’ for its content, yet did not ‘like’ because the form sounded just too silly. However, then there is always the possibility to make your ‘own’ affirmation, heavily borrowed from the content of the silly phrased one, and phrase it correctly now. What I would like to have added in this app in the future is a randomizer working from the ‘law of meaningful coincidence’. Then you can think your Higher Power is talking to you with the affirmation you presently get. (However, when the app makers would insert this system, users should be heavily warned to add only affirmations affirming unconditional love and not ones like for instance ‘You are a guilty sinner’ for such could be severely traumatizing when thought coming from God. But this is extremely needless to say of course ;-)

I wish there was a setting to get my affirmations in English. I don’t like that they switched to Dutch.

I love the app; it’s great and I’m very satisfied with how it works: 5 stars, if seen in isolation.
However, the annoyance of having random ads appearing in a paid app is frustrating, to put it mildly. Also, they keep pushing another of their apps: Loving Kindness. Tried it, but it’s not for me, please stop showing it to me every single time I use your app… please.

I just paid $20 to be served an Ad about another one of their apps. Sorry but $20 should give me an Ad free experience.
