Since almost 4 weeks selecting multiple files causes the app to crash. People are people are reporting this in their reviews here. Still no reaction or action from Synology. Those annoying customers…

Sinds two weeks now the app crashes when using the select function. This is one of the core functionalities of the app. This should be checked before releasing a new version. Fix or roll back!

Since a few days selecting files causes crash on my pad. Imagine 100 odd files to move one by one …
Horror scenario!
That reminds me: Just like getting info on a file causing a crash - but that’s an very old error, never solved.

use ds file on daily base, (iPad) but since 5.18.1 ds file shuts down when trying to select files

Selecting files makes the app crash. Synology really has to start getting custom oriented. With both its software and hardware. Ridiculous for example that in Germany certain now obligatory Synology HD’s have a delivery time of 2 months or are not available at all. Luckily there are other brands of NASses. Synology thinks it’s Apple, but it’s far from being that.

Old) Why is it not required to login with a known user setup BEFORE SETTING UP THE PIN CODE? I was able to alter any/all Synology app PIN codes while the in app user was in a non active state since no OTP was given. Login with MFA before alterations to PIN setup can be made? If one goes to the ‘settings menu’ and set it to FORGET ACCOUNT it will still remember your login name and the machine (since for some dump reasoning Synology thinks single sign on for any and all apps/machines is the norm and thus disregard the NOT SET TO REMEMBER SETTING. Is a setting that does not set anything a setting?

No integration with Apple 2 step login. To enter the second step you must have a different app. Otherwise the time it takes to get the numbers for the second step, will be too long. Because you have to open the settings and find the login name and copy the numbers. Other apps work with face-id on both steps.

App works great except for the volume control by swiping that seems to be broken.

Deze app werkt niet goed samen met andere apps, problemen waar ik o.a. tegenaanloop:
Excel en andere 365 apps: bestanden worden geopend in ds eigen excel bewerker, geen mogelijkheid om direct te openen in excel. Dus de omslachtige oplossing is om bestanden op te zoeken via de excel app.
In de bestanden app is het werken met ds file ook niet makkelijk. Dan krijg je een klein schermpje zonder mogelijkheid om bijv. Meerdere items te selecteren. Bij dropbox of drive kan dit wel.
Door bovenstaande beperking is het snel uploaden van bestanden naar bijv. Forscore ook lastig en onhandig, want je kunt maar 1 bestand tegelijk doen.

I cannot login with my custom domain name.. every other app works except the DS File app.. It can’t connect for some reason. I copied the same settings from surveillance except for the sub domain name.
When I login locally with my login details it’s working fine.

Handige app. Maar ik heb 2 staps verificatie op mijn NAS ingesteld en ik heb die gegevens in mijn sleutelhanger opgeslagen.
Normaal gesproken kun je dan via apps en websites makkelijk inloggen, zonder extra app. Maar met DS-file lukt dat niet.
Dan moet ik dus naar mijn wachtwoorden app, snel de code lezen en onthouden, en net op tijd invullen. Om mijn wachtwoorden app te openen moet ik dan wel eerst mijn hoofdwachtwoord invullen. Dat zo lang en ingewikkeld is :-) dat het ook makkelijk mis kan gaan. En het onthouden van de 2 stapsverificatiecode, is ook iets waar je voor moet hebben doorgeleerd.
Daarom zou ik het wel fijn vinden als dat ook automatisch ging……
Kunt u dat even regelen meneer Synology?

When i scan my Photos in tiff format the extensions is tiff. These files are not recognized by dsfile as a tiff file. Please add also the extension tif. It’s not done for me to rename all the tif-files in tiff,

While Synology Drive is one buggy experience, this app still doesn’t work seamless with Apples files app.
Come on, Synology. Do you hate your customers that much?
