Audiobus: Mixer for Music Apps

When can we expect more on a future roadmap? Good to see bug fixes after the takeover from its previous developer (from Loopy Pro), but what to expect for Audiobus? Should we call it a comeback… even-though it’s been here for years?

I’ve been using Audiobus for routing MIDI mainly and it has been a huge help. It does everything you need it to and probably more than what I personally use it for. It’s incredibly stable and the interface is simple. I use it to route incoming midi signals from one channel to virtual midi output, which I then use as an input in other apps (in my case Loopy Pro). It runs in the background and after a while, you’ll start forgetting it’s there, which is exactly what you want if you’re playing music. It’s only a couple of bucks (euros on my case) and a no-brainer, if you’re running multiple MIDI channels thoroughly your iDevice.

During Corona lockdown I stepped from Mainstage on MacBook Pro to iPad Pro and rebuilding my keyboard rig. I’m very amazed of the sound quality of the apps I purchased. Audiobus makes it very easy to program and arrange my three keyboards in the setups. Also the inapp “midilearne” comes in very handy. I use several footcontrollers to have complete influence in the dynamics on stage. Over time I hope it is very stable, we’ll see.

Much more straightforward and great for use cases where my iPad Pro acts as an advanced FX processor! Recently rediscovered it when bumping into some MIDI sync issues with AUM, where Audiobus simply worked out of the box. It also allows external gear to be the master clock, which in my case is the Elektron Digitakt or Polyend Play. Where Audiobus was acting silently in the background for IAA purposes in AUM it’s now upfront again and running strong!

Recently I have tried on iOS to connect SWAM app with FL Studio Mobile through Audiobus. This in order to play midi and to record audio from SWAM saxophone into FL Studio Mobile. Unfortunately, it does not work, nothing work. The apps are updated to the last version as well as iOS. Please offer a solution as soon as possible.

Very useful with IAA state saving for older apps, works well with AUM/Xequence. And the forum is an amazing resource.

It first it seemed to work.
I can see three apps in audiobus, sleeping. When i tab the apps they will open but not in audiobus. There still in sleeping mode.
Yesterday zero problems and today spend over an hour already and nothing :(

I work also with the Hammond B3-X app of Ikmultimedia.
When I used the B3-X stand alone I couldn’ t set the buffersize if I was lucky to 512, or in bad days 1024....
Now with AudioBus3 I can set it even to 128 or 64..
So also a great audio engine in AudioBus3

Anyone who’s serious about music production on iOS, will absolutely love this app.

It shoot be nice to get a vst host on the iPad for small gigs. This app promise a lot but is not good good to use through all the bugs.
I bought the first the second and now this version of audiobus. But it isn’t still stable enough....!
The midiflow split app is fantastic to make split points doesn’t work mostly after re-loading an audiobus preset. It doesn’t start manny times!
Also the programm change in the instruments is difficult for the audiobus presets.
Pleace bring this app on a higher level with updates. I paid for it!

I am using Audiobus as the master control centre for my jams. The launch bar can make the whole experience much more smooth and pleasant, especially when using old IAA apps. Also the MIDI and audio routing capabilities make it very easy to, say, record the MIDI output from one of the Rozeta sequencer to Xequence 2 while at the same time recording audio from a synth hosted in AUM. Fantastic!
