I purchased the Pro version, but the developer decided to grab back my pro-features, in an attempt to sell them to me a 2nd time. Don’t make me laugh, you are going to keep collecting 1-star ratings until your app is dead. Gambled wrong mister, there are plenty of great and honest alternatives out there! Thanks for playing.

I once paid for the app.
As of today features are taken out of the app.
That is a scam.
I would pay for new features, not pay again for what I already paid for.

I bought this app years ago, now they changed to subscription and my „pro“ features are not working anymore. I want my money back!

Jammer, is een goeie app waar ik, net als in het verleden, best eenmalig wil betalen voor bijvoorbeeld een geheel vernieuwde of verbeterde versie.
Maar een jaarlijks abonnement gaat het echt niet worden, er zijn namelijk genoeg alternatieven te vinden.

De mogelijkheden van de lifetime licentie werden recent ongevraagd zodanig beperkt, dat de app niet langer zinvol is zonder maandelijks te gaan betalen.
De app viel destijds op door zijn eenvoud, waar de toenmalige prijs mee in overeenstemming was.

Thanks for your response. I drew a comparison to buying a car, once I've bought it, I can drive it for as long as I want. But....I've to pay for maintenance and/or updates and that's only fair. I think you could consider this as a third option. You could offer a paid update and the user could choose whether or not to purchase it.

I paid for a perpetal license. So you have to deliver. If not it is breach of contract.

This player is exactly what I am looking for! The lay-out may be simple, but the options for connecting server(s) are incredibly versatile. Fantastic! Thank you.

I Like the simplicity and stability. One thing is missing imo, icloud sync between devices for settings and favorites. And maybe in the future play directly from iCloud on the Apple Tv. That would be so awesome..

the player can play movies with a .ts extension but NOT stream via chrome cast. VERY PITY

Very Nice quikly app between Plex and My HEOS link 2! Streaming (UPnP/dlna) FLAC’S with WiFi is sure much better than bluetooth! And this app does iT!, U hear the differents on a good hifi set!, downloading music files to mobile from server is also possible!
Only if … u can use +- on mobile for loudness …

Alles werkt behalve als je Flac files af gaat spelen slaan ze één op de 5 files over.?
Nu een week verder is er een update van het programma gekomen en het probleem is over.
Fijn programma en goed ondersteuning.

great player for music, video and images on the internal network with support for chromecast audio and avmfritzmediaserver. Also via the external network using an avmFritz vpn connection or Smb server. the Nas of the avmFritzbox is fully utilized.

I use 8player as controller, a remote between my NAS and AV receiver.
With DLNA a lot of functionality depends on the server and the player as well which can get problematic for controllers like 8player, but 8player keeps working well with both. I have tried a lot of DLNA controllers and the ones that were good disappeared. 8player is good and still gets updated once in a while. What I like most about it compared to others is that I can have 8player open on my iPad side by side with the app of my player. It’s also nice that it has an AppleTV app, although I don’t use that much.
It has not the most beautiful interface but it serves it’s purpose. Navigation through content is responsive but could be a bit better designed. I recently found the options to change icons and background which makes it a bit less ugly.
I once contacted support for what I thought was a bug (which was a bug in the Twonky server after all), their response was quick and kind.
For now I’ll stick with this app. But I hope it will get a decent update on the interface.
There’s also a free version, so definitely try that one out first.

I am using this from when it was very basic. Just for playing video from dnla server. Best app at that time. Just worked. Was updated, extended all the time.
