TuneIn Radio: Music & Sports

I paid for TuneIn Pro expecting a stable, ad‑free experience, but the app has become completely unusable. Out of nowhere, I now get an “update” pop‑up that blocks the entire app. When I tap it, I’m taken straight to the free version full of ads instead of an actual update for the Pro app.
What is going on here?
On top of that, the same issues I reported months ago still haven’t been fixed. The app keeps showing the same errors, nothing improves, and every response from support is the same generic message about “waiting for updates from the technical team.” Meanwhile, absolutely nothing changes.
For a paid app, this is unacceptable. It feels like TuneIn is abandoning the Pro version entirely while pushing users toward the ad‑supported one. If that’s the plan, at least be honest about it.
Right now, the app is broken, support is unhelpful, and the experience is nowhere near what you’d expect from a product you actually paid for. Save your money the Pro version simply doesn’t work.

Als de app nu open krijg ik meteen update popup waardoor app niet meer bruikbaar is. Update verwijst naar de gewone reclame versie… Mail gestuurd naar support en dat is inmiddels tweedagen geleden. Ik ben wel echt klaar met dit k**bedrijf….

I recently tried again but can not forget that TuneIn radio’s slogan is “Radio your way” but noting could be further from the truth. This company decided to block conservative media about 5 years ago. It is a big tech media blocking company. It is that simple.

Bought it for €9 stil advertising when starting the app, why whats the difference with he free version

Dit was voor mij geen gratis app, maar toch word ik veel te vaak lastiggevallen met de vraag of ik PREMIUM (what’s in a name) wil worden… Ook ben ik geregeld mijn lijst(je) met favoriete zenders ‘zomaar’ kwijtgeraakt. Verder geen klachten

Tune-in Radio is for me indispensable to listen to American quality news programs from Holland, where I live. Thanks guys!

Ooit de pro versie gekocht en toen was bijna iedere radio zender te beluisteren. Helaas zijn meerdere voor mij interessante radio stations zoals Fip niet meer beschikbaar. Ook mijn Onkyo receiver gebruikt TuneIn als interface waardoor ik deze zender niet meer beluisteren kan. Waarschijnlijk willen deze radio stations geen dure fees aan TuneIn betalen. Ik voel me bekocht.

Ooit was dit de betaalde pro-versie van TuneIn. Nu hebben ze alle extra features eruit gesloopt én de app volgeduwd met reclame. Thanks TuneIn! ☺️

Word niet van te voren gemeld dat bij aankoop ook nog een anno moet worden afgesloten. Wat een miskoop!

I understand there's a few other benefits, but this was supposed to be commercial free, so why is it I keep getting these damned commercials all the time? For most apps 1 or 2 euro's is enough to skip adds but I've paid you 10, twice, and you've got the audacity to make me listen to these damned commercials! I want a solution!

app was amazing at the beginning, but now it’s useless with unwanted and forced commercials, avoid and use alternatives

I consider this a convenient app, staying in touch with home channels while travelling. Would love to see recommendations for local channels.
Frequently pops the message to start free trail while I have a paid version; annoying.

I have this app since I started with smartphones (2010?) and I am still enjoying not only all the different stations but also the great sound quality. And a tip: if you put your VPN to another country and select “local stations” you can find more stations. One thing about the GUI of the app: quite a few years ago it was possible to find other stations in the same genre, just bij swiping over the image of the station. Unfortunately it was gone after an update. And what happened to the download functionality? But these minors don’t stop me for giving 5 stars.

The app description is 100% misleading about the advertisement. The app is flushed with them.

Serves an ad on the start of a stream (which other radio apps don’t) Also, pause and rewind have been removed, which is extra annoying on talk radio stations. This leaves little extra value over other radio apps.

Tevreden over de app maar sinds kort valt het geluid weg als je de app niet ‘open’ hebt staan op je scherm. Dus blijft niet spelen op de achtergrond!

Eén voor één worden de functies waarvoor ik deze app gekocht heb weggehaald. Opnemen? Kan niet meer. Terugspoelen? Kan niet meer. Jammer, zo is er weinig meer ‘Pro’ aan TuneIn Pro.
