Suunto

Love the Suunto App it’s minimalistic and clean a bit a mixture between Apple iOS and Strava. They lissen to customers to update the apps and product and I love the outdoorsy approach of Suunto. For me way better than Garmin and also above Coros and polar.

After last update planned runs don’t sync with watch anymore. Normally planned runs show up automatically at the day of event, but not anymore.

I bought a Suunto watch, because I like the design of it. Unfortunately the app and it’s UI are very poor. It lacks a great usability and the options are very limited.
It looks like Suunto don’t want to interact with other platforms and closes itself from the outside world.
Example: it’s not possible to import activities from other devices and platforms to the Suunto app. Why?
Another example: if you manage to connect with another platform, it’s not possible to disconnect afterwards. There is a button, but it doesn’t work.
Third example: if you plan a workout you can plan it on a specific day. But the workout doesn’t show up in the calendar. So what the purpose of planning a workout if you can’t see it in the calendar?
Suunto ignores the end user and their needs, by not involving them in development of the product.

Voordeel: het grote amoled display.
Nadeel: trage software, trage en slechtwerkende GPS. Horloge update niet automatisch met telefoon, moet je altijd handmatig doen. Natte vingers? Dan werkt je touchscreen absoluut niet, waardeloos. Scrollen met de kroon is dan je alternatief, maar niet handig als je in het water ligt met je surfspullen. Kompas calibreren.. supertraag en omslachtig. Te weinig keus in meldingen aan of uitzetten… and so on…
Geen herhaal aankoop waard..

I downloaded the latest update on my iPhone and when I started the new app I have to agree that all my data (including GPS when app is not working) will be shared with 3th party services. When I don’t agree the app does not start. I don’t want to share my data and only view my results on my phone or tablet. So now it seems I am stuck with a watch of €400 which I can’t use for the purposes I bought it. I wonder if it is allowed to change the Terms and Conditions in this way…. I am sad, angry and very disappointed on Suunto

D5 does not even sync the time. Besides in the log it appears as an eon steel… time for an update of the firmware…

In de activiteiten is snelheid niet meer te kiezen in het 1km sub-menu. Voorheen was hierin naast snelheid ook tempo mogelijk.
Wanneer je door de activiteiten scrollt is dat maar mogelijk tot de laatste 3 maanden. Voorheen was deze beperking niet aanwezig. Je kan wel in de kalender een specifieke dag kiezen, maar dat is veel te omslachtig als je iets zoekt waarvan je de datum niet weet.
Deze functionaliteiten graag snel terug.

Langere moves zijn nog steeds niet te delen, gebruikers zonder de Suunto app krijgen standaard een error 500 van de Suunto webserver. Deze bug zit er al meer dan 1,5 jaar in maar de support afdeling blijft zeggen dat ze het gaan fixen terwijl er niets verandert.

The “share link to activity” feature has now been broken for about two years already for longer moves. When someone will click the link their webserver will just choke and output an error 500. Contacted support almost every month again about this but they still don’t know when the tech guys will fix this. Very, very disappointing indeed.

Laatste update geeft twee onderdelen weer in 1 grafiek is totaal onleesbaar analyse op de kaart is gelukkig wel zichtbaar, maar nu alleen nog als je op de route klikt niet meer bij de analyse
Rare update

Laatste update laat je voortgang zien van huidige maand en niet meer van de huidige week zoals voorheen. Dit werkt niet zo

Suunto fully disrespect customers with the better, gps and battery life, monochrome display and rugged adventure watches.
The new Suunto App and the cancellation of Movescount app makes the Ambit series almost obselete without having a computer with Suunto Link handy.
Come on Suunto, YOU can do a better job at customer satisfaction!

Na jaren en jaren
Gaat het synchroniseren van je sport gegevens nog steeds moeizaam.
Blijkbaar is dit a huge probleem voor de app ontwikkelaars.

Gebruiken de app nu een aantal maanden. Werkt prima samen met de Suunto 9 Peak en iPhone 11 Max. Geeft helder inzicht in je training, conditie en fitheid.

In this update the travelled distance on any point in the route is not displayed in the map or the new graphs. Please bring it back again.

Waarom krijgt Suunto het iedere klaar om de App iets te verbeteren en wederom weer functies weg te halen. Nu hebben ze de afstandmeting tijdens het analyseren van de route weg gehaald (eerst kon je op de landkaart zien waar je tijdens de route op welke afstand je zat). Sinds het opheffen van Movescount is het alleen maar minder geworden. Fijn dat er nu iPad App is, maar waar blijven de functies!

The app is extremely misleading. Much data like Sleep doesnt get synced to apple health while they advertise this and support also says this but after having my issue escalated they admitted; they decided not to sync all data to apple health

After the last update the app is totally unreliable in when it will save amended dive entries after import from the dive computer. Really annoying because you amend the information or put in pictures and then the app just does not save it for whatever reason. Suunto, please fix this. App is pretty useless for logging dives this way.
