SmartGym: Gym & Home Workouts

Why suddenly the app requires it to start a workout? It doesn't need it at all.

Tried the paid version for a while, but it wasn’t what I need and expect. They boast an ‘amazing and advanced algorithm that creates personalised training plans, etc’, but I’m not impressed by what I saw. You can ‘generate’ a couple of workouts, which get a label for a day of the week (which I find confusing, because I don’t have regular days I go to the gym). And then… nothing happens. The FAQ’s say the AI assistant (Smart Trainer) will give you suggestions after a while about increasing reps and weight and ‘at the appropriate time’ will recommend all new exercises. I don’t know how much time Smart Trainer needs for this, but I didn’t get any ’suggestions’ for reps, weight or new exercises. This is NOT what I want. Other apps I’ve tried generate a new workout for each visit to the gym, or at least you get the option to do this. SmartGym seems more like a very expensive and complicated way to log your workouts.
One positive thing: their Apple Watch app is very good, you get most of the features of the phone app, including a preview of the exercise on the watch, which is excellent. Unfortunately because of the lack of ‘Smartness’ I will not be continuing to use SmartGym.

When creating custom routines, during the selection of the exercises, equipment filters don't work for some reason, so it gets unnecessary hard to find an exercise.

Pro version;
Multiple times the history and exercises won’t log, so I can’t see what I’ve done, calories and time are not available after the workout. History is not fully available.
Contacted support multiple times but they can’t help.
Overall app works ok, good routines and exercises available.

As a personal trainer, I would always create my own workouts from scratch. Now, I get to save loads of time with this app. Not only that: it motivates me more than ever to keep going until my workout is fully completed. If only I’d known sooner.

Well designed and uses most of the Apple ecosystem features, works flawlessly with Apple Watch. Worth the subscription.

Variability of new workouts is super sad. Even when there is a "brand new" routine update it contains the majority of exercises from the previous one

Wel first time I did pay for such an app. Yo be honest it is great, smart and has allot of options. I honestly can recommend this app “paid version” works great with The iWatch

By far de beste app voor de fanatieke sporter. (Lees: sportschool bezoeker) doet alles wat het zou moeten doen, perfecte ondersteuning en koppeling met Apple Watch en Apple Health. Daarnaast vaak updates die er voor zorgen dat voorkomende bugs snel worden opgelost! Kost wat maar dan heb je ook wat.

I’ve been using the full version for about two years. The app works well with apple watch. This apps make my workouts convenient.
Worth every cent!

it works! easy to set up and works very good with apple watch. for someone taht is not into gym and exercise is very intuitive.

After a month of using the app its asks me to pay for premium to continue using. Gonna delete it cuz there are other workout apps which don’t require premium subscription for using their basic features.

SmartGym is a great app that supports my trainings like no other. Particularly the great assistance via Apple iWatch during the training is unprecedented.
I’m just wondering if it would be possible to include / add a VO2Max measurement while exercising to SmartGym as this is a good indicator of cardiovascular status.

Jammer, je moet telkens op je Watch de oefeningen aantikken. Daar ben je meer mee bezig dan de workout zelf. Onhandig omdat elke keer na 30 sec. te doen. Ook de rusttijd geeft hij niet aan. Had n trainingsprogramma verwacht. Ga terug naar mijn Nike app. Tot nut toe de beste.

I really adore this app as it is stimulating me a lot to get the best out of my trainings and myself. Currently using the FREE version but considering to subscribe in the future
