Slowly: Vrienden maken globaal

I genuinely believe this is one of the best, if not THE best, apps out there. It represents everything the internet should be: Multilingual, multicultural connections that can be made with anyone from anywhere cross the globe. The “slow” letter deliverance takes away that online entitlement of immediate gratification and encourages thoughtful, meaningful interactions. I love the stamp collection feature. I find it very addictive. Although I wish there was a way to collect the stamps of countries you have been to before downloading the app. It’s a bit embarrassing for me that I don’t have my home country’s stamps to share, as they can only be unlocked based on location. Maybe proof of a plane ticket could solve this issue?
The greatest downside that I don’t think is being addressed enough is the potentially inappropriate/predatory behavior. It is extremely disheartening to wait sometimes days for a letter, only for it to be a 38-year-old man sending cryptic poetry to younger users with pressure language ('if you join, we won't stay on surface', 'not everything will feel good'). There are people who appear to be mass-messaging based on their sent/received ratio. And while there is a decline, block, and report feature for users, I would appreciate some sort of protection against this. Those looking for romance should only match with people looking for the same. That feature would already decrease these uncomfortable instances substantially.
I wish I could give it 5 stars, but while I’m an adult, I’m disappointed that I can’t recommend this app full heartedly to my little sister, as I’m afraid she wouldn’t be safe. I understand the internet is the internet, but I would expect more protections for users for this type of app.

Ik vind dit echt een top app! Makkelijk om te gebruiken, en ook leuk om je eigen profiel en poppetje te maken!

Can’t make a profile. App keeps crashing after I made my avatar. Tried 5 times, giving up.

Pure oplichting je kan munten blijven kopen anders kan je niets sturen.
En de prijzen die ze durfen te vragen schandalig.
Apple moet toch eens wat beter gaan opletten wat ze toelaten want de meeste zijn alleen op je geld uit en wat ze leveren is puinzooi

Why the only landscape mode rotation.. Why not just normal portrait mode? I love to write in portrait mode! And when you have both options people can choose what the want. Only thing I really dislike!

Echt een heel leuke app!
De postzegels zijn echt heel leuk.
Het zou mij leuk lijken om misschien enveloppen/briefpapier aan te kunnen passen/verzamelen net als de postzegels, maar misschien zijn dat voor anderen iets te veel opties.

Deze app geeft het gevoel van ‘vroeger’: de tijd dat je echte brieven verstuurde en penvrienden over de hele wereld had of probeerde te vinden. Het wachten tot de post aankwam; de verrassing als er een envelop in de brievenbus lag; de verwachtingsvolle spanning als je ‘m opende...
Slowly benadert dat gevoel goed. De verschillende postzegels zijn wat mij betreft een leuke toevoeging.

It's realy fun to meet other people and it's also safe because you can block people. Also fun because it takes time before a letter delivers, so you have to wait

I love this app. Away from the stress and superficiality of other social media, it makes you really pay attention to what you write (because it might take a while for the other to receive it and there’s no editing during that phase). I’ve received some amazing letters already and I think it’s a great way to meet new friends. I’m a fan!

This app came up in the recommended section and I was straight away interested. After installing it I fell in love straight away! Simple but pretty design, simple way of using the app and most of the people I have met are so interesting to talk too. If you’re into having penpals, this is the app for it. Would recommend!

Te eenvoudig; ik mis foto’s en snap het verzamelen van de postzegels niet. Waarom alles in het Engels uitgelegd?

I love the app, but when someone sends me a letter with a photo, I can’t open it. When I try to open those letters, I’m thrown out of the app! It would be great if this is fixed!

I love it so far. Because there are no photos - just a name - you’re not dealing with catfishes, judgements or prejudices. And because it takes time to receive messages, there’s no pressure of always being available to talk. It’s a nice way to learn about different people all around the world.
EDIT: The “letters arriving” message doesn’t work properly. It’s saying I’m receiving one letter when I’m receiving two, and sometimes it says zero when receiving one. Maybe it’s not refreshing at the right events.

When i made an account, i couldn’t pick interests. It took a few hours to finally show up. And the finding manually doesn’t work that good.
