Proton Mail - Encrypted Email

Sinds vele jaren gebruik ik Protonmail. Ik startte met een gratis account, maar sinds enkele jaren betaal ik voor een iets uitgebreidere account. De prijs is redelijk en ik heb gmail vaarwel gezegd. Het hele Proton systeem is gewoon geweldig met vpn, agenda, email en meer. Een echte aanrader voor iedereen die het Amerikaanse systeem achter zich wil laten. Zet die stap en je wordt niet teleurgesteld.

Very happy with the app in general. One thing that really irks me is that the unread mails badge goes up without opening the app, but doesn’t lower when you’ve read the mails on another device or in the web environment. I’m never sure whether I have actual new mail or just have to update the counter on this device.

Being also a MS Outlook and Gmail user, it is always interesting to make a comparison.
I use Proton since January and I quite like it.
First, the setup process was easy and went pretty smooth.
I got used to Proton mail quickly as it has a clean design. One suggestion for improvement is the nesting and label feature. I like the Gmail labeling and nesting system better (more options). A minor remark is about the address book: it is not very well visible so people might have difficulties spotting it.
Other than that, I am a happy Proton user: easy to use, knowing that my data is encrypted.

had to go back to my old gmail since i couldnt add more than 5 attachments, or well it appeared to be added but i didnt see it added to the list so I couldnt verify before I sent the email. Gmail also makes much better use of the larger iPad screen. Please improve the iPad experience.

Would be great if I don't have to click on all emails. To get to see the all email folder.
If I have known this before I would not have bought my 2 year subscription.
I have many separate email accounts so I want them ordered is their own folder. But now it's so annoying to work with.
Just using my iPhone email,app and Google works easier.
Would also help if I could make a rule to only move emails to their own folder after a couple of days. Bit now I can only move them automatically when they arrive.

The app works good in every device: iPhone, iPad and Watch.
One thing Proton have to stop: sending offers and spam to users about products, services and sales!

Tenzij je een domme transhumaan bent. Ook hier gaan we na de betaalde termijn weg. Onmogelijk meerdere apparaten te gebruiken als je geen duivelse qr gebruikt.

Proton Mail is een veilige en gebruiksvriendelijke maildienst die ook gratis beschikbaar is (betaald door abonnees) dus geen reclame.
De bijbehorende app werkt goed en is snel.

Deleted mail keeps on popping up. It indicates unread mail, but should not be the case.

I stopped the payed version as I expirience many things not work smoothly. Like put my attachments from proton emails directory into my proton-drive. Without the need to download it to the iCloud or iPad, and upload it from there. The whole purpose of security is lost due to that way of working.

No feedback support, so you get a public bad star review here…
Even my bank app remembers my logged on account, so why doesn’t your app remember my account?

The app repeatedly crashes making it unfit for use, and worse the one time it does not crash it simply hides half of the email, with no button or setting to show the full email content, making it even more unuseable… Gmail is not perfect, but at least it works.

Everything seems to be working, but between the clients on different devices the inbox view won’t update. Removed mails are not accessible, but remain in the inbox view and need to be removed manually from the view on ech device. Feels like a glitch but still troublesome.

For al the conferdancaial email this is really private, app works flawlessly. Keep up the good work.

A lot of search queries throw a “nothing found, try a different query” type answer. Hower sometimes that query works to search for something and sometimes it doesn’t. There is no way to filter in the mobile app or create new folders. Otherwise the best email choice but they could do a lot better with programming essential features better

Sometimes the app freezes when a message is (to be) opened.
The onle remedy is to (forced) stop the app.
It is a pitty new messages can’t be viewed in early stage to preview the the content.

Update: Latest updates still didn’t fix the issues with creating, adding and sorting labels (see menu for labels to a message or thread).
Please fix these kind of problems with the mobile app.
Great service but PLEASE improve usability instead of adding animations or other eye-candy. Label workflow is crippled since the new version update.

The app is great but there is to much white space, I want less space and more to read on the mail home screen.
