PrivacyPro SmartVPN & Firewall

(Fixed with dev support) Updated to 1.7.5 and ended up losing all internet connectivity. Had to disable Privacy Pro to be able to report this. — Enjoyed using it up to v1.5.6, especially as a long time user of the original Disconnect plugins for Mac. Customizations then became paid. Hence only 3 stars. v1.5.7 claims to return to free customizations, but that does not appear to be true.

Every now and then i see someone else's browser or apps and am surprised by the advertising (and invisible tracking). That's long been in the past with this app. Recently changed to the paid version mostly because the app deserves it and also for the additional vpn. Sad that we need this app to combat surveillance capitalism but i highly recommend it.

Gives problems without warnings. E.g. App Store doesn’t work on friends WiFi (on mine no problem). So it is very unclear what the real problem is (no blocking of a tracker, some apps and websites just doesn’t work anymore).

Unfortunately, in iOS 11.3 this app also blocks all traffic to and from Apple services, including Apple ID, the App Store and more. It led to very big problems directly after updating to 11.3. Couldn’t activate devices because Disconnect was enabled after reboot, but unreachable because only the iOS config/setup-screen was available. That hung on a Apple Id Server unreachable error. After dozens of tries it somehow broke through. After that, many Apple apps are not or partly working because of unreachable servers. Hopefully there will be an update soon that solves those problems.

It is very easy to use. Haven't noticed any of the hickups like other reviewers mentioned.
It is expensive and custom settings requires even an additional IAP. But I do like just one payment upfront, instead of the subscription model. Even though I prefer Adguard, with custom lists and custom whitelists, Disconnect is good if you just want use a set and forget it kind of app.
And no landscape mode on iPad.

Hele goede VPN app die veel trackers blokkeert. Ik heb nergens problemen van, werkt vlekkeloos.

De bouwers/verkopers van de app beloven de privacy te bevorderen door controle van de verbinding en het opzetten van een versleutelde VPN-verbinding.
Helaas veroorzaken ze bij mij meerdere netwerkproblemen (die niet eenvoudig te traceren zijn) en werken een aantal app's niet goed. Ik heb de app verwijderd omdat extra betalingen gevraagd werden voordat het abonnement verlopen was...
Sindsdien zijn er geen netwerkproblemen en werken de App's wel.
Dus trap hier niet in. Het is "snake oil".

Since the most recent update, the app crashes within a few seconds and is not usable. Fix this please! (iOS 8)
