Note Taker HD

I have been using the app professionally for 3+years, for all my notes (neatly organized by topic), and mark-ups on PDF. I recommend it to all professionals!

+ Very customisable
- Smooth ink isn't so smooth
- Convoluted interface

Under IOS 6 is Note Taker HD no more à choice by opening documents. It is not anymore possible to import docs from other applications.

Heb er behoorlijk wat bekeken en dit is de eerste die echt waarmaakt wat 'ie claimt.

I used to carry a big pile of paper notes around the office all day, until I started using my iPad. Note Taker HD is one of the two essential apps, which enabled me to throw away that pile of papers (the other app is a good PDF reader).
It has nice features to sort and catalog your notes, using tags, which makes finding back that one note you need easy. It has good feel when you write with a stylus (I can recommend the Kensington Virtuoso). The zoom box functionality makes it easy to write cleanly and small enough to use the full page capacity. It's easy to switch between pencil colors, and the highlighters are very handy. Import of PDF is possible, so you can write and draw on it for reviewing a document.
The only thing you might need to get used to is (part of) the interface. But once you know where to finde everything, it's easy enough to use it on a daily basis.

Een aantal soortgelijke apps geprobeerd, maar deze is echt geweldig. Functionaliteit zeer uitgebreid en helemaal naar eigen hand te zetten.

Notities schrijven vormt een belangrijke activiteit en dit moet daarom op een eenvoudige wijze gebeuren en overeenkomen met pen en papier. Note taker hd voldoet volledig aan mij wensen!

Works great, lots of customizing options for taking notes. The only thing missing is an interface with cloud applications like Sugarsync or Dropbox

Note Taker HD has an extensive feature set - well thought out and executed. The interface, though, is so non-standard that I try to avoid using the app. Please, Software Garden, hire a UX / User Interaction designer and allow her to help you redesign Note Taker HD. Features are non-trivial to find and the design and layout are non-standard. Leave your memory muscle at the door.

The old interface was really one of the major issues I had with Note Taker HD. The new one is great however!
Only element I found unintuitive was (still) the magnifying glass for switching edit modes.

With the latest update this app became near perfect. The best handwriting app for the iPad by far. Great work Dan!

Niet te geloven dat er nog steeds gezocht wordt naar verbeterpunten, terwijl de eerdere versie reeds buitengewoon goed was. Werkelijk de beste notitie applicatie!

Dit is een uitstekend programma. Sober, maar heel doordacht vormgegeven. Je kunt eenvoudig met een vinger of met een stylus (ik gebruik de Pogo Sketch) op de iPad schrijven of tekenen.
Nu is het niet eenvoudig om dat netjes en precies te doen, dus kent Notebook Taker HD nog een tweede manier om te schrijven. Je krijgt dan een venster onderaan het scherm waarin je kunt schrijven of tekenen. Dit venster komt overeen met een rechthoek op het grote scherm en wat je hierin schrijft, komt verkleind in je notitie te staan. Zo kun je veel preciezer en netter schrijven.
Wat deze app ook biedt en wat 'm voor mij heel waardevol maakt, is de mogelijkheid om te schrijven op een achtergrond die je zelf kunt kiezen. Dit kan een foto zijn, maar ook een PDF. In dat laatste geval kun je dus aantekeningen en markeringen maken op de PDF en deze ook weer wegschrijven als een nieuwe PDF. Op die manier kan je dus heel eenvoudig PDF's lezen en hier commentaar op schrijven. Er is dus geen noodzaak meer om papier mee te nemen, een rode pen en een zootje markeerstiften.
Hierbij biedt de app volledige ondersteuning met Dropbox, dus je kunt heel eenvoudig bij je bestanden en deze tussen je desktop en iPad uitwisselen. Daarnaast kent Notebook Taker HD (en zijn broertje voor de iPhone) nog veel meer handigheidjes en aan alles merk je dat er goed is nagedacht over dit programma.
Kortom: een echte aanrader als je van je papier af wilt.

Dit is duidelijk de beste app om notes mee te nemen. Papier wordt op deze manier overbodig. Zowel kunnen typen als schrijven met een stylus of vinger is een must.
Veel standaard figuren als tabellen beschikbaar.
Improvement opportunity: produce tables with easy 'fill in' options.

Precies wat ik zocht, ben gewend veel aantekeningen te maken tijdens interviews. Ga het uitproberen.

My goal was to get rid of paper writing pads and all the clutter that this entails and be able to file meeting notes in electronic files as pdf. This app works wonderfully for that. I use it together with the Just Mobile pen and that is and excellent combination. The app is feature rich, without being overcomplicated. The writing takes a little time to get used to, but I have found that it actually improves my handwriting on paper if I use the "edit2" functionality (write in a little window that scrolls along with your writing). Big compliments for this very useful app.

Note Taker HD (NT) is a very usefull tool. I really use it instead of notes on paper. It has many possibilities to make detailed notes. You don't need paper any more. Different colors, figures etc. are easilly available. The menus are easy to use, you learn by intuition. Sending by email to your own computer makes archieving simple. For me its really an A product. The money very worthwhile.
