Nice but flawed
It's a nice app and gives access to some interesting (historic) content, but has some irritating flaws. Using settings usually crashes the app on my iPad 3. The new streaming option to connect to a Samsung Smart TV doesn't work. Tapping the icon does show the TV (with the corresponding app running, if started before the iOS app), but on then selecting the TV it claims the TV app is not running! Weird.
That also begs the question... If you have a Smart TV with the NFB Films app installed, why then use an iPad etc, to stream the content to it, and not play it directly on the TV? But if you do want to add the ability for streaming direct to the TV, wouldn't the ability to also use the more generic DNLA streaming (besides AirPlay) make more sense? Some other apps (like iMediaShare) already support this, and that works well.
Update v2.6.1: just tested it. The streaming error is still not fixed. It still cannot find its own running TV APP.
