I am extremely concerned about Instagram’s practice of automatically revealing my user profile when sharing a reel. This design choice not only poses significant security risks by exposing personal information without explicit consent but also appears to conflict with key EU privacy regulations.
According to the GDPR:
•Article 5 (Data Minimization): Personal data should be limited to what is strictly necessary. Automatically sharing my profile may involve disclosing more data than required for the intended purpose.
•Article 25 (Privacy by Design and by Default): Digital products must incorporate privacy-friendly settings as the default option. The lack of an opt-out feature or upfront notification regarding this behavior clearly violates this principle.
I urge both the company and the platform regulators to take immediate action and enforce these privacy standards to protect users from such potentially dangerous design flaws.

Na een hack kan ik nu mijn app niet meer gebruiken. Mijn account is geschorst en de app werkt niet meer. Ik kan ook geen nieuw account aanmaken..

Recent hashtags are gone for the normal people. No one can see your hashtags anymore so your photo’s are only visible for your friends.

Intagram is a very entertaining app. However, I always have issues with the notifications. I do not want any notifictions except DMs. I have everything turned off in settings that I don't want. Does Instagram care? No, because I still get broadcast channel invites or ‘this user has shared a photo’-notifications all the time! They must be doing this on purpose. Also, I know Instagram has to make money and all, but 50% (or more) are ads or recommended posts, which is very frustrating.

New user here. I thought this app was for sharing your photos with the world?! I have posted some pictures, and tagged them with a unique hashtag. But when I click on this tag, it shows no posts at all! My post are hidden from the world! Nobody can see my posts under any tags. Looks like my content is invisible to everyone! 0 views, 0 likes, 0 comments, 0 followers.
Why would I want to go see others people content that the app insistently shoving in my face when nobody can see mine?
No, I will just delete this app, and find another one that doesn’t shadow new users.

I have to say spending time in Instagram is way worst than pintrest or TikTok. Uneducating, depressing, boring not inspiring, not even funny or beautiful. Just bad for your brain. Exactly why i sell meta stocks for something that give more value added to human life quality

Tapping a (full screen) reel video changed into pausing the video instead of mute. The mute button was visible for a week (above the new pause button). But now the mute button is nowhere to be found! Give back the mute button!

I get the pause button randomly added on reels and randomly it gets removed. LEAVE IT IN!

A completely white screen immediately overlays the app rendering it unusable. Before that it was fine.
