Good Sudoku by Zach Gage

I’ve loved and played this version of sudoku for more than five years. Until recently I got good scores on the daily classic sudoku. Since the syncing rewrite by the author, it has my score as 1 even when I scored 124k. Awful way to motivate me keeping a streak.

I love the way this app helps you learn advanced sudoku techniques. The only sore point I have is that i have had to reinstall it 5-10 times over the past month since it kept freezing on the loading screen when coming back to it (I usually play the eternal mode)

This is a sudoku app for people who don’t like playing sudoku. The app tells you which numbers you can still put in, making errors almost impossible. All the other functions also are just lazy tools that you could have just as easily checked yourself. It looks really pretty and for people who are new to sudokus it could be nice, but for people who like a challenge this isn’t it.

Amazing game for playing and especially learning sudoku, I love it. However I have 2 suggestions. First more colors than black and blue are needed especially when wanting to use the color chain technique. Second when at impossible the techniques up to and including y wing feel like busywork to me and it would be nice to have the option to select which techniques get applied automatically so you can focus on the techniques you haven’t mastered yet. Furthermore I feel like and see in the multiplier that the impossible extended puzzles are easier than the impossible core puzzles

Ik heb heel wat Sudoku-apps geprobeerd; maar hier zit alles in wat je kan en mag verwachten!

I’ve only had the app for a couple of weeks and I’ve encountered errors a few times already. The last one was when I was stuck in a puzzle, I pressed the hint button and it pointed to a 1 which it said was the only one in its row... Which it wasn’t. I hope this can be fixed because it’s really demotivating. If it helps, I have screenshots so let me know if I can submit/send them anywhere.

I really like this game and the way it handles the boring stuff in Sudoku.
My only real problem is the placement of the hint button. I’ve pressed it accidentally a view times costing me points. It would help if it was a bit further away.

Before last update the app was great, but now on completion of my latest eternal puzzle, it shows the background of the completion text block and then... nothing. The Sudoku puzzle shimmers, but it doesn’t show the stats. Upon quitting the app, it starts with the same Sudoku...

Great app for me as a learning player.
Takes a bit of time to learn and tweak the controls, but I have I have found my 'sweetspot' in the settings.

One of my favorite games which I play everyday twice or more.
Today I encountered an error in arcade which cost me my streak.
Fortunately I made a screenshot. Where can I submit this?

This app is a great way to solve sudokus. Really good! I’d love to have the ability to mark cells with colors. If that could be added it would be perfect!

I love the app, its very userfriendly, especially for newbie Sudoku players like myself. I quickly paid to remove the ads. But after of the recent updates it started crashing every other game or so and refusing to start at all. I hope this will be fixed soon.

The UI and especially the notetaking features are better than any other Sudoku app out there, but the app is rendered frustrating and unusable by various bugs. The app will occasionally freeze, and if it does, all your progress will be gone. Similarly, the app will sometimes randomly decide mid-game that it needs to show you an ad. This would be tolerable if not for the fact that, again, if you return from the ad, all your progress is gone. Every time you start a game it seems like there’s a 66% chance that you have to start over due to a crash or ad, and a 34% chance that you will be allowed to complete it. Because of this, it’s hard to recommend, which is a shame, because if it was actually playable it would be great.

Really love the app, especially the automatic notes of the “good” sodukus.the free version is great and I’m doubting to buy the paid version but looking at the techniques it seems a bit limited with respect to the techniques. Missing things like chaines and the option to have multiple colored notes besides blue. Most techniques seems alike in the paid version causing it to look like more value than you get, e.g. hidden triple, hidden triple split, naked quadruple, naked triple split and hidden quadruple are all almost the same techniques. There is for example a much more comprehensive list on sudokuwiki. If there were more techniques available I would definitely buy the game.

I’m a sucker for good design, so this was straight up my ally. The gameplay really helps you to use different strategies to solve a puzzle and turns addictive.
downsides:
- it happens that while in a puzzle, an add will start playing (free version). Once the add is done, all progress for that puzzle is missing. It’s a real buzzkill.
- Your entire progress gets deleted for some reason. So I don’t understand why there are 100+ puzzle in each category with a winning streak incentive, when the game deletes your progress.
Improvement:
- Have an option to add all the note numbers with the hit of one button. It takes at least a minute to add all note numbers to all fields manually.

The app is great for getting better with solving sudokus. However, lately I’ve been getting adds mid-game and once I can click away the add, my entire progress is gone. This has happened a few times and it makes the app unpredictable and annoying. I don’t mind adds to keep the game free, but this goes to far.

The game crashed and when I went back, all of my progress was gone. This already happened twice. Not again. See you never.

I really like the game. It’s so much more than just a sudoku-game. I do have one suggestion. When I’m thinking about what move to make it sometimes can take a while and the screen of my iPhone goes to sleepmode. An ‘always on’ kind of option in the game would be great.
