Fog of World

Zou nog mooier zijn in combinatie met Google Maps. Even net dat weggetje pakken die je nog niet Fog-vrij hebt gemaakt:)
Ik wordt kinderachtig blij van deze app :)

Pure functionality, zero fluff. No unneccessary social media integration, no spying, no profiting off user data. Just a great app which gives you exactly what you want. In a well fleshed-out package and sleek looking to boot.
I absolutely love it.

Nice to know where I have been, but more important; I can always find my way back, wherever I am.
I use Fog of World for over a decade now.

Sine 6 months or so syncing regularly goes. I have travelled with my iPhone, the new tracks are visible on my iPhome. I sync my iPhone, later sync my iPad. But the new tracks never appearr on my iPad. For syncing I use dropbox and iCloud. Butno matter how often I sync, the new tracks will not appear on the iPad. Fog is part of my life, this problem is not good!

Because I did not get any reaction on my e-mail, from 2 april 2024, I try it this way. A previous version worked very well. Because LOCATION was set to ALWAYS tracking was done without opening the app. Now I must open the app to track my steps. And in the same old version I could import a GPX using a local file. Now I must use a cloud. Could you add those possibilities again to the app
I recently found a ‘workaround’.
Just share the gpx with FoW and the tracks are added.

When I use a new database, is the progress ALSO recorded in the ‘main database’? I like to also have a overview of ALL progress made in total next to (for example) a holiday. EDIT: yes that will work. Thanks!

Over nagedacht om app te verwijderen

It’s a nice app, but I lost the import-button. I used to import gpx files I recorded with my navigation devices. Now I can’t find the button. If it’s still there, please re-give it a prominent position.

I’ve been using fog of world for (I think) about 10 years now and the big problem was always the crashing of the app during a recording. This made the app very unreliable and therefore it never earned more than two stars in my opinion. Since the update to version 3 everything changed; it looks better, works faster, synchronizes much faster and best of all: it appears to be totally stable! For the first time in a decade I give this app the five stars I think it deserves! Great job and compliments to the developers
Since a few weeks the iPad version crashes again, iPhone remains stable. Back to four stars

Nice app but it stopped working since the last update, please repair. This is not the normal “fog of world stopped recording”, the app just doesn’t open anymore, I get the blue startup screen for approximately 20 seconds and than returns to iOS. This even happens when all other apps are closed and the iPad is turned off and on again.

Many times the app don't record if you don't open it every x minutes. Also would love a watch app so I can leave phone in car and can go swimming for example.

Since I’ve started using this app I’ve rediscovered my own neighbourhood and I’ve become much more aware of my surroundings. Moreover I’m walking /cycling the extra km’s to remove that last bit of fog in that one particular street I haven’t. However. Though I’ve locked recording mode every now and then this pricey app just stops recording which is quite unmotivating. Moreover although I’ve bought a brand new iPhone 12 the battery use of this app is outrageous.

Logging where you have been and seeing how you discover the world. With this app every travel to somewhere becomes fun! Best app ever!

Still my favorite app for years. Very nice to track all of your travels around the world. And to look back where you’ve been.
An minor suggestion should be, that it’s possible to export your tracks to gpx format.
