EMDR 101 helps you understand Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and gives you a portable bilateral stimulation tool, whether you’re exploring EMDR on your own or guiding clients as a therapist.
LEARN HOW EMDR WORKS
• Read the eight EMDR treatment phases, from History & Treatment Planning to Reevaluation
• Have each phase read aloud with the built-in voice
• Find answers in the FAQ
GUIDED EMDR SESSIONS
• A structured session with spoken and written prompts
• Choose your focus (memory, event, phobia, or your own) and a helper image (drawing, photo, or situation)
• Rate your distress (SUDS 0–10) before and after desensitization
• Repeat the desensitization section whenever you need to
DOT ONLY: FOR THERAPISTS
• A clean, full-screen moving dot to guide clients anywhere
• Pass counter, plus an optional automatic stop after 24, 30, 36 or 48 passes, so every set has the same length
• Double-tap to switch between light and dark backgrounds
CUSTOM SESSIONS
• Write your own question sets, organized by EMDR phase
• Export and share them as .emdr files, or import sessions from a colleague
MAKE IT YOURS
• Dot size, color, speed, and movement style (Default, Bounce, After Image)
• Left and right sounds panned to match the dot: a simple beep, or piano, guitar, bass, or violin tones
• Experimental options: vertical, diagonal, and figure-8 paths, eyes-closed mode guided by sound alone, and a haptic pulse at each edge
• Choose the voice, speed, pitch, and how long prompts stay on screen
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
• See every session type in one place
• Charts show your SUDS before and after each session, plus your minutes per week
• Write a short reflection after each session, and read or edit it later
• Export your history as a CSV file to share with your therapist
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your session history, scores, and notes stay on your device. EMDR 101 has no account, collects no data, and contains no tracking or analytics.
BUILT FOR EVERYONE
• Available in English, German, Dutch, French, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese
• Supports VoiceOver and Dynamic Type
• Home Screen quick actions and Siri Shortcuts open a session in one tap
IMPORTANT
EMDR 101 is an educational and self-help tool. It does not replace diagnosis or treatment by a qualified mental health professional. Trauma, PTSD, depression, and anxiety deserve professional care, and EMDR therapy is best done with a trained therapist. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
