Hi, I’m Toby and I created Brightmind.

If you’re here, you probably already know meditation is valuable. The real question is: why Brightmind? The answer is a principle that guides everything I do: “As simple as possible—but no simpler.”

You see, meditation apps fail people in two opposite ways. Sometimes, they make it over complicated and abstract. Other times, it’s oversimplified—pleasant, calming, but ultimately shallow. Brightmind lives perfectly in the middle. I’ve simplified all the stuff that can be simplified, but I’ve been very careful to leave the essence that gives meditation its transformative power.

My principle of as simple as possible, but no simpler is reflected everywhere in Brightmind—the guided meditations, app design, and community.

Guided Meditations

Most meditation apps offer hundreds of sessions that all kinda blur together. Focus on the breath, notice thoughts, relax. That’s a good start, but it’s too simple and lacks precision.

Brightmind is the most comprehensive meditation system in the world. You’ll learn a wide range of techniques, rigorously organized so the system feels approachable, not overwhelming.

App Design

Other apps hand you a massive library, which creates two problems: every time you open the app, you have to decide what to practice, and the learning never builds because you’re all over the place.

Brightmind solves this with a single, expert-designed Journey. There’s nothing to decide, just open the app and press play. And each session builds on the last, so learning sophisticated practices is a breeze over time.

Community

Other apps mostly offer guided meditation. That’s too simple.

Toby Sola is dedicated to helping you create a feedback loop between your meditation practice and your ability to make the world a better place. So the more you meditate, the more effective you are in the world. And the more effective you are, the deeper your meditation practice becomes.

Toby has been teaching meditation for two decades. His craft as a teacher has been refined through years of monastic training and close collaboration with the world-renowned teacher Shinzen Young. Toby is an award-winning designer and the founder of Brightmind.

SUBSCRIPTION PRICING AND TERMS

Brightmind offers one auto-renewing subscription:

$99.99 per year

This price is for US customers, and pricing in other countries may vary. The actual charges may be converted to your local currency depending on your country of residence.

If you select the auto-renewing subscription membership option, payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and your Brightmind subscription will automatically renew in a year unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your credit card will be charged for renewal through your Apple ID account within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. You can turn off an auto-renewing subscription at any time from your Apple ID Settings but refunds will not be issued for any unused portion of the term.
