Windy.com - Weather & Radar

I found Windy one of the most accurate weather apps, even in narrow areas, and for longer term as well.

when i try to go to a location with the search function, the metar stations will block cloud base in meteo view. Therefore I cannot see the bottom part of the screen. Such as cloudbase.

Use this app daily for predictions of our sports flight hobby. Works like a charm and is mostly correct

Excellent, very detailed, good looking app. The forecasts are similar to official national meteorological organisations. In fact Windy gets its data from those organisations. So there is no need to search for another app when travelling. Besides weather forecast there is so much more included in the app that can be interesting at times. The free version is very good, but everyone should consider to pay to keep this app going!
For a non-meteorologist the amount of information can be overwhelming, but there is no need to dig into that if you don't want. There will be a moment when you are interested in wave hights or low/high tide, or the amount of rain accumulation the coming 12 or 24 hours or up to 8 days, or you want to hike to an mountain top and want to know if you will get above the clouds or not, and then the information is there.
The price of 26 Euros in 2025 is rather high compared to other meteo apps, but 2,17 a month for a company that has to spend a lot of money hosting the servers needed for many thousands of concurrent sessions and gathering so much data from all over the world isn't that much eighter.
The only thing that can really be improved is a wiki that covers every aspect of the app. Now you need to dig in the forum, hoping that what you want to understand is covered by a FAQ. Not every Windy user is a meteorologist, and I have no clue what Sounding is for example, and can't find a clear explanation. Setting it up takes a lot of time, but maintaining it not so much, just when the interface changes it needs to be updated. Meteorological terms and the explanation of how it shows in the app stay the same. O, and a configurable zoon option like in the web version would be very nice!

Love this weather app. Has a lot of data to play with. Different weather models are available and you have the possibility to compare the models to actual forecast. Definitely recommend!

Mainbuttons appear in the middle of the iPad screen (instead of bottom-right) when returning to the Windy app. After turning iPad to portrait and return to landscape they move back to the bottom-right. Its on newest iOS on multiple iPads Pro.

We love Windy for planning! The App makes it possible to compare the output of different models - when they all point in the same direction there’s more certainty in the forecast. There’s no forecaster involvement with these numerical models, but we’re really happy with the interface and comparison possibilities!

Kunnen de cijfers van de temperatuur wat groter gemaakt worden. Zelfs met een bril moet ik goed kijken. Voor de rest goed.

Helaas lukt het niet om in de Pro versie van de app eerder gezochte locaties te verwijderen.

The premium plan is very confusing. I want to buy this app, but it seems just for one year. It’s not buying, it’s just an abonnement which will stop after one year. I am going to look for another weather app.

Anything you want to know about weather anywhere in the world, Windy gives you the information! A very clever app.

Immediately after download, this app captivated me. I surf, kitesurf and snowboard and this app makes my “Forecast” folder with 6-7 other apps obsolete. It is visually addictive to look at, slightly tricky but fun to use. It delivers accurate, geeky with many extra layers of weather information just for redundancy. I mean just look at the CO level of Beijing...omg is that Mordor? Try it and you will never look back.
