Walk With Me changes the perception and feel of public spaces using "walkscapes" that add music, texts and sounds to specific places all over the world (see map). This is a new and unique way to experience the places you visit.
Imagine you are walking through a park, a city, or nature. As you move around, the sounds change. A shifting musical landscape mingles and harmonizes with the sounds in the earpieces of your iPhone or iPad.
Walk With Me deploys GPS for musical purposes. It puts a real-time processing tool in your hands: your own iPhone or iPad. As you move between specific spots in a delimited area, sonic effects modify the ambient sounds that are present.
The app is easy to use. As you weave through the area, you can create your own musical sequences and patterns. No technical handling required. All you need to do is walk around.
During the customized walkscapes, which were specifically written for this app, fiction fuses with reality. Natural, musical, and vocal sounds are superimposed onto 'live noise' from the surrounding area, which is processed in real-time. Past and present, sound and space become intertwined. An overarching narrative infuses the everyday and challenges the way users perceive their world.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
