I love that with this app I now can save my favourite talks and the ones I still want to see and also that it offers such a big library. I’m also pretty confused and put out that one of the, for me, biggest bonus features of the site-database doesn’t seem to be available in the app: the transcripts. Or am I missing something?
For me most often watching or listening 15 minute talks are quite a task, specially if I don’t know if it would be really interesting. I am a very good and quick reader though and the transcripts offer me much help in scanning, learning and sometimes deciding to do see the video to also see the specific interactions. And now -quite counter-intuitive- it’s actually even more difficult for me to watch the videos ánd read the transcripts. I do most of my workings on learning on iOS and now when I find a talk I want to check out it automatically prompts the app. Which is good because then I can save it. And not good because my most helpful feature that puts your site and talks above let’s say Youtube is not available. For the transcripts I now need to find a desktop pc and find the talk on there to see if it has a transcript. (Which it often haves.)
In all this also a minor problem is that I can’t copy-paste titles in the app making it even a task to turning watching and researching for transcripts into quite a large task, even for putting it on to do-lists.
