SOMA FM is fantastic, full stop. But do you need the app? No. It doesn’t do anything that other Internet radio apps don’t do already, e.g. Tune In, an aggregator app where you find most of SOMA FM’s stations anyway, and the audio quality is not higher. By buying SOMA FM’s you’re practically giving them a donation, that is great, but remember Apple is getting a substantial slice of that money. You’d rather make a donation to them directly, and a substantial one, and a recurring one, because they deserve it.
