Ride with GPS: Bike Navigation

There seems to be no RWGPS map available, when selected the screen turns white with a blue gps location dot. Other maps are very limited accuracy. Open street map option is missing.

The basic version is just as expensive as Komoot but has only half the functionality.

I like being able to navigate with cues, but it is very counter intuitive to have your progress be red and the route ahead be blue - more so because blue isn't clearly visible in bright sunlight. Another thing I dislike is that gpx files you export cannot be opened by any other program except Strava. And finally, integration with Apple Watch for heart rate data would be nice. So while I like the minimalist look, this app is not for me.

Er staan opeens een 30-tal voor mij onbekende routes in mijn bibliotheek. Allen gedateerd 24/11/24 23.05 uur. Ik ben over op Komoot.

Heb geprobeerd gpx routes te exporteren. App zecht dat het kan, en exporteerd ook iets, maar het is geen gpx bestand dat door andere applicaties gelezen kan worden.. waardeloos

The app is almost perfect: one can connect and view cadence, flexible UI, etc... But some fundamentals are not taken care of: only a very limited dataset is written to health: distance, energy, and exercises (?). BUT NOT HEART RATE. WHAT? So it is impossible to analyse the heart rate over the ride. Impossible to see history. Impossible to see the heart rate phases. WHY?

When you try “routeplanner” the app just stops and gets stuck.
Downloading routes to offline library takes forever (really forever) and doesn’t seem to work at all, it gets stuck around 20%. But if you choose to cancel once started, the complete route will be deleted out of your library!
So journeying without a backup laptop with only the mobile-app doesn’t work at all.
But maybe it’s because of my I-phone?

For years the app is unstable with long multiday routes. Unusable for holidays. Solution from developer: cut all routes in smaller pieces. My solution: use another app that is reliable. On the ridewithgps site I can plan long routes with ease. I think it is ridiculous that you cannot use them in the ridewithgps app. The claim for worlds best planner, navigator, tracker is unjust.

De kaart is prima, niets op aan te merken. De stem ondersteuning is meestal kort voor een afslag prima, af en toe te laat (gps). Waarschuwingen voor langere afstand wordt meters in kilometers gegeven en na de afstand volgt een niet te verstaan gebrabbel.

Aanvankelijk lijkt het aardig te werken. Alleen op geluid is haast niet te doen helaas. Als je een rit wilt stopen en niet opslaan is er geen logische keuzemogelijkheid. Bij een foute keuze is de waarschuwing niet accuraat. Dus ja leuk maar ook hinderlijk lastig in het logische/ intuïtieve gebruik.

I tried this app but on the first ride he tried me to bike on different car only roads in Lelystad, this is what other apps like Naviki do better. So I stop using this.

Unlike that other well known cycling app that is becoming the new Facebook for cyclists. RideWithGPS focuses on riding and is easily handled during your ride.
Cudos to the RwGPS team. Love it!

Wat een heerlijke app. Heeft me op de vele 100 kilometers me nooit laten staan. Waar voor je geld.

Abonnement afgesloten, maar zeker voor die kosten een inferieure app. Traag, onlogisch en werkt niet continue. Thuislocatie aanpassen wordt niet opgeslagen, mi en km worden door elkaar gebruikt... tegenvaller.
Terwijl de idee erachter echt goed is

Probleemloos en snel op iPhone en computer, goede synchronisatie
Te gebruiken wereldwijd en aan te passen aan locale fiets kaarten.
Na vele Apps getest te hebben voor mij de allerbeste!

The apo has good routeplanning iptuons.. although some routes end up in a country road nit usable for my race bicycle.. and power usage is high... for the rest best app for cycling with navigation!

Ik gebruik Ridewithgps al jaren en de uitgestippelde routes via de site navigeren me o.a. naar Rome het diepe zuiden van Frankrijk. Geweldige site en app

Lousy app with bad bluetooth support of 3rd party devices and interfacing anno 2010.
Needed it for my rflkt navigation but wont spend a dime on the expensive inapp purchase when things aint gonna be better. Whahoo better integrates turnbyturn navigation in theire own app!
