Qobuz: Music & Editorial

Wat ben ik blij met deze player heb verschillende naast elkaar gezet: Spotify,  music, You tube music maar kunnen Qobuz niet evenaren.
Ik heb wel verzoekjes:
- Graag  tv app maken.
- Graag radio toevoegen van bv Tune inn.

Was recommended this app by. A friend only to realize it wouldn’t let me sign up or make an account no matter how many times I tried.
Kinda makes it hard to switch or use an app. Hoping to find an ethical app to replace Spotify but it seems like this isn’t it.

I really like using lastfm with my music player (currently Spotify) and while Qobuz does have lastfm support, it scrobbles a track directly after starting the song. It would be nicer if it would scrobble it halfway through the song, so skipped songs won’t be added to my list of played songs. Otherwise quite a nice service and app.

Nice app, good sound quality. Search works a lot(!) better than in Apple Music. I never really used Spotify, so can’t compare to that.
Unfortunately the catalogue is missing over 10% of my library on AM. Not sure yet if that is a dealbreaker for me. Oddly enough, a lot of European released remixes/dubs/re-edits from the 90s and 00s are missing as well as a bunch of 1970s disco/funk/soul singles.
Qobuz uses Google ReCAPTCHA at sign-in, which is more privacy-invasive than (European) alternatives. Since I block all things Google on my phone, I couldn’t sign in to transfer my playlists. Had to go to desktop to do that in a privacy-preserving manner.
Finally, I think it needs a rebranding; Qobuz is a weird name, and not in a good way.
Request: Please feature track runtime more prominently. When deciding between different versions of the same song, track length is often the best way to determine which one is the right one.

The app gets better and better fast, the addition of lyrics and even translations is great! The only two things I’m currently missing are:
- reversing the custom playlist order completely (would help with imported playlists)
- better search function! The order of search results often does not make sense until I type in the full song and artist name. Searching for songtext parts would be step after that.

I thought I could give Qobuz an honest chance, but for that I need my Spotify playlists. The “free” import feature turns out to be Yet Another Subscription for Soundiz to… sync playlists. No multiple playlists, no “generated” lists, which includes the favorites. Qobuz, if you’re trying to convince Spotify users you really have to make it as easy as possible to completely convert over. I want a subscription to ONE music service and nothing else.

Downloaded the app after starting my trial but I am unable to use the Qobuz app unless I answer a stupid request to follow at least three artists… pfff a certain way to put off new subscribers, Qobuz!

i really love the fact that i was able to seamlessly switch out of spotify but the slowness of the app compared to my phone's usual performances is really killing me! it takes 4 seconds every time to switch out songs or put it as shuffled (also is it possible to have it always as default random)?

The app is basically in a state of Spotify a few years ago. This is generally a very nice thing - features like being able to control music playing on one device from another that you’re logged into make so much sense! However, there’s some average glitches or design flaws:
- if the app closes, when you reopen it, shuffle is turned off and your place in your playlist is lost. you then have to reactivate but it means that you can theoretically have the previous played song queued as the next song immediately after the app closes. Given shuffle isn’t totally random, this feels like it does actually happen
- Restructuring the queue is not as intuitive as other apps. I don’t think you should need to press a button to edit the queue. Apple Music works great in this way, I recommend borrowing from that

• 99% Coverage: From the biggest global chart-toppers to the most obscure underground artists, I have found almost everything I was looking for.
• Curation: The app doesn't just give you tracks; it gives you the stories behind them, making the browsing experience feel like walking through a high-end record store.
Ethics Matter: Supporting the Artists
Beyond the bits and bytes, there is a moral reason to make the switch. It is well-known in the industry that Qobuz pays musicians significantly better per stream than the "big green machine."
Final Verdict
If you care about music, you owe it to yourself to try Qobuz.

Great overall experience with best-in-class curation and audio quality. Some QOL features are still listing, but the devs are punching out improvement after improvement this last year.

I attempted to get a trial for this and I was charged 20 euros. Very confusing and disappointing.

I love everything about Qobuz, especially their ethics, but please, please, please add folders because my music collection is now a great big mess after importing it from another streaming platform. As a DJ and musician I have hundreds of playlists and I cannot find anything.

I switched from Spotify to Qobuz a few months ago and it’s been pretty good so far. I recommend it if you’re looking for an alternative to Spotify. Here is a list of features I would like to see in future updates if possible:
-Custom playlist covers
-A feature to swipe a song from your history into the queue
-A feature to swipe a song into the queue when you’ve searched it, instead of via the three dots
-A wrapped or some sort of statistics at the end of the year or month
-A better search system; so that if you search a song or artist multiple times it will appear higher in the search results
-A feature to add songs to a playlist via the playlist instead of it only being possible via songs
-An option in your library to scroll through music in tile format in rows of 3
-A broader catalog, personally I am missing the album “Sun child (deluxe)” by Jace Cameron
-Improved daily mixes
-Lyrics under songs
-A better song suggesting feature at the bottom of playlists, with songs that are actually similar to the playlist instead of random songs that you have downloaded or saved
-Less bugs, I often get that it says “An error occurred” or “Can’t download this song”
-An algorithm.
-This may be specific to one album, but on the album “Call me by your name(original motion picture soundtrack)” there are a lot of songs that you cannot play and it says “unavailable”, but when you search the songs they do appear and are playable, this is probably because the album has songs by various artists but I wanted to mention it.
-A feature so the non explicit versions of songs/albums will not appear in discography or when you search for an album, so the original explicit versions are first and non clean versions only shown when searched for
If you would like me to explain some of my feedback more detailed i would be happy to do so. I know that this is a long list but these are all just suggestions that I think would improve the app a great deal.
