MeerI have been using PredictWind for several years now with pleasure and succes and in the years PredictWind has developed as well which makes it complete and indispensable for all serious sailors

MeerIk gebruik PW nu ongeveer 2 jaar en het is een vaste routine geworden om routes vooraf te plannen en ook onderweg constant met de laatste updates te werken. Ik zit in de Carieb en het valt mij op dat de voorspellingen vrijwel altijd onjuist zijn. In de meeste gevallen is de windsterkte zo’n 5 a 8 knopen te laag ingeschat, welk model ik ook selecteer. Ook 5 daagse voorspellingen zitten er vaak naast. Lijkt er een goed “window” aan te komen is dat weg 1 dag tevoren. Als compensatie gebruik ik ‘gusts’ als ‘average’ maar dat lijkt mij toch niet de bedoeling. Of mijn instrumenten zijn niet goed, maar die heb ik bij mede zeilers gecheckt.

MeerIk had een abbo. Zat 3 weken in Kroatië en 70% klopte het het weer niet. De normale weersvoorspelling standaard van Apple was beter. En gratis.
