Missleading. You only buy it for one year!
MeerDon’t join! Don’t use this App!You only buy it for 1 year. After a year you must pay again. How sad i am? Very sad! I was by lesson 13 still 17 to go i thought.
Take care. You don’t buy 30 lessons and can do it in your own time to learn. Very bad this. Missleading.1door Yin****23/11/2025Amazing and intuitive
MeerBefore this app, I always thought that I wasn’t very talented in learning foreign languages.
How could I have been so wrong. This intuitive way of learning is exactly what I needed to excel in both German and mandarin. Now people even say I’m gifted/talented in learning foreign languages.
I would definitely recommend this to others.5door Pel*******29/06/2025Amazing!
MeerThis app in combination with the Language Transfer app is an awesome combination to learn Spanish. Highly recommend
5door F M******09/08/2024Great beginning
MeerVery good app for someone who’s starting the journey with a new language. Although some of the languages are just one level, I’d recommend it as a beginner’s must try.
4door V V****02/07/2024Great way to learn a language
MeerThe app is great, I am learning Spanish right now. Mostly do the lessons while i am doing something on autopilot, like washing dishes or driving to work. Every lesson they introduce new words and repeat it enough so you can remember. Right now I’m on day/lesson 23 and i already notice improvement. Would highly recommend!
5door Anoniem03/02/2024Very effective
MeerAfter much experimentation, I’ve found that Pimsleur’s courses are the most effective for me.
Sadly though, they only have the first level for the Dutch course. Please amend that - I’d be eternally grateful!4door Ale*******28/02/2023Great way of learning the language in useful context
MeerVery nice to be learning in actual useful conversations that are applicable in real life instead of practicing words. You can tell that it’s based on a scientific method of learning a language

4door V V****12/10/2022Pimsleur = best way to start out any language
MeerI’m an evangelist customer who’s been using Pimsleur for more than a decade to learn all my languages. I highly recommend to anyone. Don’t use Duolingo… that’s a dictionary app
5door Jak*******24/06/2022Simply do not work
MeerI paid for 30 days of Dutch, I can only access one lesson, which by the way is the same free one.
I have tried all the online support channels and I have got no response so far, and the international number listed on the website do not work at all.1door Mar*******23/04/2021Super!
MeerMakkelijk in gebruik, fijne en duidelijke (wel wat saaie) lessen. Verschillende manieren om na de 30 minuten les te oefenen.
5door Mav*****15/03/2021Best app ever
MeerI just love this I can learn on the go. On my bike, during cooking during outside work. I am not a book reader so this is the perfect solution for me!
5door D O*******28/05/2020Japanese is outdated
MeerThe Japanese that they teach is outdated so be mindful of that! Also the games they have are a bit broken, they’ll give you the same options to choose but one of them is correct, this is due to the romanji they use
2door Sal*****09/05/2020Not quite sure
MeerI am currently studying Japanese. While Pimsleur Is well known and proven to be effective, it’s also super boring. There is not really much advantage of having this as app compared to just a CD. The pricing I feel is also a bit steep (~€20 per month) and the practice features are quite lacking.
After 20 days my vocab is like this:
- do you want do drink?
- do you want to eat?
- how much money you have?
- where is the park?
- where is the station?
- can i have 2 beer
So don’t expect to learn a lot of words.
On top of that, be mindful of the vocabulary they teach you is quite traditional and outdated. For example In Japanese they teach you two words for saying wife.
Kanai - my wife
Okusan - when talking about somebody’s wife
Kanai is no longer used as it means “At home” so meaning it’s some woman who stays at home all day. This is considered rude when used in Japan.
Source: my partner is native Japanese.
If you are just looking to carefully expose yourself to a language it’s good to get started, but you should probably move on to something else after you get a little feeling for the language.2door She****29/04/2020A good starting point
MeerIf you are trying to learn a language and doesn’t know where to start? Pimsleur is the perfect starting point.
But it does come with a price.
Overal a very good app.4door Xpu*******18/03/2020Digital cassette
MeerIf the free lesson is indicative of the other lessons, then all you get is a 30-minute monologue, akin to the cassette tapes of yore.
This might be useful if you intend to listen while driving, but personally I prefer a more interactive experience.1door Yuu***27/08/2018
