Endel: Focus, Sleep, Relax

I already paid for the app, but every time I start the app it keeps pushing screen covering ads telling me I need to spend even more on lifetime deals. If that doesn’t stop, I’m removing the app, never use it again and file a formal complaint. Shameless. Try and first offer some real value before continuously harassing your paying customers.

Endel is a well-established and reputable company. Their app works flawlessly on my Mac and mobile devices. Some people criticise their music generators for being too repetitive, but that does not bother me. While I would appreciate a little more variety, my main goal when using Endel is to focus, and their repertoire supports this far better than ambient or classical music.
I also value the fact that Endel is driven by an artistic impulse in the service of clearly utilitarian goals: helping users focus, relax, and so on. This balance is evident in their collaborations with artists on Spotify, while the app itself concentrates on more monotone, less author-driven soundscapes. In other words, they understand their positioning and where there is room to improve.
From a UX perspective, the app is also improving gradually and consistently.

I like the sounds that are possible. It is not very chea0, but it helps me to concentrate. But... it is very annoying that they push there lifetime promotions so hard! Even when you already took Premium. Come on... Stop with it!

- Transition between soundscapes are extremely slow. Annoying.
- Also the quick acces with my Sony often doesn’t work most of the times
- Popups with ads even though I have premium.

The constant upselling of services ruined this app. I paid a lot for an annual subscription, only to be bombarded by upselling of a lifetime subscription. The frequency aspect of the app is nice, but their sales/product team have destroyed the experience

It offers a 7 day free period but requires your payment info. And proceeds to charge you immediately even if you cancel the subscription. STAY AWAY !

Why did you make shut-off timer (which was free before) only available with subscription now? I understand you want more sales, but with making more and more features paid when they were always in free version? And making it only 10 min uninterrapted sessions?

I started using this app not so long ago (premium) so I can’t give an accurate review, but I came here to say that I’m already deeply satisfied with the app. I sleep much earlier and better with these functions. Aside from sleeping, this app also comes with tunes and features to focus which I use a lot now and is enhancing my focus. Deeper focus is my favorite mode.

The options for free users aren’t really a problem for me, i can deal with the 3 options it has. I’ve tried it for sleep, which has an appropiate option. Though i wish the melodies could be more lullaby-like. It tends to make you more lost in thoughts at times which is an extremely restless feeling to have when you try to sleep, yet the relax mode is too much sensory to sleep with. I wonder what these melodies and sounds are based on? Lastly i think as everyone has been saying, that 10 minutes is really tight for free users. I guess you could fall asleep within that time span, but barely when youre aware that thats the time you’ve got, because now you’re unconsciously challenging yourself to fall asleep within 10 minutes, more thoughts that only keep you up. I would love for it to at least fade out after the timer, rather than stop spontaniously, because it definitely triggers you back awake in case you have started to fall asleep a little already.

I love the app but I cannot access it since Friday. When I open the app it keeps crushing.

The amount of time you can listen to the sound is way too short without having to pay, I used to be listen for hours, now it just 10 min since a few months. It really messes with me. Caused me to start using it less, which I don’t want bcs I really like this app as a person with adhd and autism. I’m sad about this bcs I’ve had this app for over a year now

Guys, as a QA engineer, respectfully, there are too many bugs in the app for the price. I was happy to pay, but having started the free trial and seeing all the unclickable elements (filters in the ScenariOS section, types of activities from the list of activities), the app not starting the scenario I've selected but being stuck to the one that's already playing, and many other ones... The app is just not fully usable and that's quite sad.

Endel is a game-changer for my work and study sessions! The adaptive soundscapes help me stay focused and get into a deep flow state effortlessly. Next to that it also helps me relax when needed. Highly recommend!

Without a doubt the best soundscape app there is. The quality is really good and you can hear that every piece of sound is carefully engineered for each moment. The AI tools makes it very easy to switch from one state to another. I believe even Richy Hawtin has worked on it, this was the reason for me to buy it and even for half the price.

Just wanted to try out this app, but after 1 time using it the app crashes when I try to open

I’m a student and I used this app from time to time when I had deadlines to really focus, because music distracts too much at times. But now when I wanted to use this app again I found out about the 10 minute limit for free users. I get that as a business you want to make money, but you can’t completely disregard ‘free’ users. What is the point of a ‘focus app’ if it pulls you out of your focus to look at your phone every 10 minutes?
Maybe there is ways to make the premium features more appealing or maybe drop the price a bit, since I don’t see most people willing to pay this steep price for premium. But I would like to see the limit removed or at least be a more reasonable time like an hour for example, otherwise I just don’t see a point in using this app anymore. But then again maybe you don’t see a point in respecting free users.

you now have a 10-minute free session. used this app to fall asleep all the time. now you need to pay after 10 minutes. it sucks and is not worth it.
