BBC: World News & Stories

Great source for objective news. However after years of use several bugs on the iPad just don’t get addressed or even grow worse:
- Page build up is often very sluggish which results in lots of sudden shifts while reading. Quite annoying.
- Vector graphics get clipped and included text is sometimes disproportionate resulting in a mess. This is just sloppy device compatibility checking prior to publishing.
- Images sometimes get clipped when clicking to enlarge. Pinch-zoom is terrible.

You really do not make more members by doing this, you only scare people away as 99% of your registered articles are found in other online newspapers and or uploaded by others for free. With Ai translating something into English is child play and articles are even used from your bbc site.

It takes several times to get this app just to open, it freezes my iPhone until my homepage shows with the app still not fully closed! Coupled with the loss of My News makes this a useless app!

Since the last update the app is constantly crashing. It doesn’t allow you to read an article without restarting the app. Obviously it needs a fix, please.

This app has become a lot worse over the years. First removal of a custom news section and now a lot of topics being removed. Tech now only shows ai news instead of science and general technology. This app no longer has any value to me

I downloaded this app some years ago in a quest to find a balanced news source, which I believe I had found - however, I have watched with dismay over the past 2 years as it slowly lost its integrity to geopolitical and ideological forces and now I cannot justify its continued place on my phone.

The app is constantly with out permission or asking opening webpages linked in the app to its website.

The size of the letters is no longer adjustable. Only the headlines can be changed. But the body stays in small print.
The app now doesn’t follow Apple iPhone dynamic text settings but has its own settings.
This results in small print. And I hope small print won’t lead to small talk…

Brilliant very condensed we have gone from multiple choices in music channels to 2 channels just like the 70s

I used to listen to a lot of podcasts on BBS Sounds. This app is a joke and now to top it all off there are unskippable ads? You must really not like your listening base outside the UK.

I was an overseas bbc sounds listener using radio 6 music. Not any more it seems.

Having been a happy Sounds user for a decade or more, I hate this alternative. It tries to meet too many needs and thus meets none of them. The selection of pods and programmes is greatly reduced; even when logged in I can't set favourites; navigation is clunky; and order of episodes illogical. Yes another British public service getting screwed.

I am very disappointed that the wonderful BBC Radio 4 programmes are no longer available for me because I live in Netherlands. I can’t listen to Radio 4 live all the time and used to go to Sounds to enjoy favourite programmes, plays, comedy,readings to name a few. Now there are only just a few Podcasts available . I was always proud of how people all over the world were able to listen to the wonderful and unique BBC Radio 4.

Very very sad that BBC sounds has been turned off and we have to access radio via this app. To listen to podcasts, you constantly have to search again and next episodes are not played automatically or consistently. Also, where has the drama gone? Why no listen again option for radio? Where is Radio 3? Where is radio 2?
Currently very disappointing for radio /podcast access. I live the BBC and I'm sure you'll improve this in time but for now I'm grieving the loss of BBC sounds, which was EXCELLENT.

They say you can listen to BBC Radio stations on this app.
They’re technically not lying, because you can listen to BBC world service and BBC Radio 4, but I want to listen to BBC Radio 2.
Absolute wankers for making the BBC Sounds app unavailable to other countries.

The app is constantly with out permission or asking opening webpage links in the app. It will open the website page of the news, and not stay on the app.

I used BBC sounds app to listen to BBC Radio 1 all day, every day. As a listener from abroad I am now blocked from the sounds app and supposed to use this app. However, it doesn't provide me with an easy link to BBC Radio 1 live stream, which is ridiculous, because, via several other apps, this is still available. 'Doesn't make any sense to me.

The BBC should be embarrassed by this app. It is truly terrible. It is so user unfriendly that it is like going back 10 years. I can be nostalgic but not for poor performance. Some of the functions that I expect to be able to do with ease but are difficult are to search for podcasts, to see what podcasts I have downloaded and to play them in order. I think the BBC provides great content but when it is this difficult to access that content then most of that content is wasted.
