Shapr 3D CAD modeling

I like Shapr3D, but I strongly believe AI-assisted workflows are no longer optional for modern design tools. Competing products are already moving in this direction. An in-app AI assistant for natural-language help, modeling guidance, or workflow suggestions would keep Shapr3D competitive and significantly reduce friction. At the end of the day, time is money, and tools that help users work faster will win.

Without any experience I have bin able to some what master the program in a view months to my fulfill my needs. Very nice on the iPad!

Na Sketchup en Fusion365 is Shapr3d een verademing voor mij: alle meer en minder geavanceerde mogelijkheden zijn op een echt eenvoudige manier te gebruiken. Daardoor werk ik ook nog heel efficient en snel. Top!

Intuitive interface and controls, but often buggy and crashing. This is acceptable if you’re a student/educator and get everything for free, but not when you’re paying top dollar for it. Pricing is horrible since you don’t pay anything at all if you fit in the system, but you’re being ripped off if you want to educate yourself/start a business. This app would probably attract way more users if they had a fair price for everyone, but instead they’re whining that it’s impossible because of costs while having a pricing model like this.

ik hou van het programma maar 50 euro per maand voor iemand die een 3d modelletje wil maken als hobby?!

I don’t mind paying for things, but €350 a year is just mental!
Give people the option to pay for a ‘medium pro’ or something…

Keek de video van deze tool, en eerste wat ze zeggen is dat het intuitief is en dat je de geschiedenis kan veranderen.
Ik dacht cool! Maar in de praktijk moet je vooraf precies weten wat je gaat maken, en alle dimensies meteen perfect weten.
Teken je een circel en wil je die aanpassen? Nope, dat kan niet. Later een extrusie aanpassen? Nope.
Ik snap niet dat iemand hier enthausiast over is...

The app used to be very quick to respond, now after the last few updates every task seems to take about 30 seconds or so. Also after hard reset of iPad Pro, what happened?

This is THE best CAD program on the iPad, and maybe even the best CAD program in general (since its available for Mac and Windows now too). For sure, in this price category (expensive in App Store terms, cheap in CAD software terms) it’s the most intuitive and easy to use CAD program. It’s such a clever combination of finger and pencil gestures!
And the extensive amount of instructional videos, tutorials and the active community is nothing short of amazing. If you're thinking about earning money with designing 3D models, the Pro version is definitely worth paying for. But if you’re a hobbyist, then the paid subscription Might be a little too expensive, and the limitation of 3 drawings, no export or import, and no colors in the free version might be hampering too much, although it certainly helps to learn or teach using Shapr3D. But the addition of a cheaper variant for hobbyists (like about €70 a year, €7 per month) with no limitations except in the amount of drawings (like a maximum of 7 designs) would be great. And would make me add the fifth star. :-)

It’s great, however only being able to have 2 projects and everything else requiring pro (€350 yearly) is to much, and not being able to just use your fingers

It’s so intuitive to design on Shapr3D but it’s too expensive for what it is. €300 per year is too much to ask from hobbyists. Solidworks is much more professional and has many more functions for only €38 per year.
I really love working with shapr3d, but sadly I have to switch to a more reasonably priced option.

The app works great, I use it to create some 3D models for my 3D printers, also I have found a trick to not go pro! Because the price is to ridiculous, just make a hobbyist price for this like 10,- a month or so, because 46,- a month is crazy if you ask me.
Also a lot of other reviews say that the price is ridiculous for this app, just adjust the price because you already made the money back for making this app.

Ik ben erg teleurgesteld in deze app, voornamelijk omdat je alléén de Apple Pencil kan gebruiken om ermee op een iPad te werken. Ik heb zelf een alternatieve stylus, omdat mijn iPad 5 geen Apple Pencil ondersteunt. Maar het is ook niet bepaald aan te raden een alternatieve pen te kopen voor deze app, omdat de alternatieve pennen niet met de iPad verbinden. Op laptop of computer is het wel mogelijk, aangezien je ook een toetsenbord en een muis kan gebruiken.

I'm sure this is a good app but they won't let you skip watching 12(!) video and completing associated exercises. I don't have time for this.

Beats every 3D and CAD app I’ve ever played around with. Insanely expensive for a hobbyist though.

Shapr3D works extremely intuitive, is fast in use and offers a great overall performance on the iPad. I only wish there was a plan for hobbists too. Now as a student you’re able to get a free license and as a pro user you have a €350 plan which is cheap if you use this continuing your workflow on the go. But as a dad that doesn’t have a lot of spare time that loves to doodle around from time to time 350 is extremely expensive. My designs never see the light of day but i do enjoy making them. Hope the Shapr3D developers will come up with a way to provide a cheaper plan to hobbists like myself. I think there is a huge market for them to provide something for this group of users. For now i’ll enjoy the remaining part of the trial when i have some time to play.

Nice tutorial… looks good.. but why login or sign up after that.. i just want to test a bit without signing up.. i hate these things..
