Merlin Bird ID by Cornell Lab

When choosing the Dutch language for the birds I get the error “the was a error when converting the birds list”

App verwijderd!

I really love this app, and I know a lot of people in the birding community do too. One feature I’d really love to see is a Favorites or Bucket List, where you can save birds you haven’t seen yet but really want to find. It would be amazing if the app could notify you when one of your bucket-list birds is detected by the audio recognition, or when you log a sighting yourself.
Another great addition would be showing male, female, and juvenile birds separately, with pictures of each. A lot of species look quite different depending on age or sex, and having that information directly in the app would make identification much easier. These two features would make an already great app even more useful for birders.

This app has helped me to get into birding, which is now a new hobby that gives me a weekly moment of nature connection. And that is scientifically proven to improve your life :-) There are some things that could be better (seeing a map with your birds, a widget on the lock screen to immediately start recording) but overall this is one of my favorite apps!

Please fix your app. After the last update with the new ‘secure log-in option’ that logged you out automatically I have not been able to log back in.
The app is unusable like this, all of my sound files and my life list are inaccessible. Extremely disappointing.

After the update my life-list has vanished. I can login but it leads to nowhere.
Uninstall

But please please please make it so I can delete birds from my registered lifers list in the app. Sometimes I wrongly identify.

Gratis! Werkt bijna verslavend, goede lijst van vogels aanwezig. Spelenderwijs vogels leren kennen!

Erg mooi. Werkt uitstekend.

Really love this app, can now just walk through the woods and finally know which birds I hear. Great!

Fun app for recognizing birds around you. It’s very accurate.
Great for learning what bird makes what sound. It identified birds I hadn’t spotted in my yard yet, but sure enough I found them. Love it!

Vraagt meteen om locatie. Handmatig algemene locatie invoeren werkt niet, super verdacht. Weer verwijdert.

Doesn’t recognise even the commonest birds. I understand coverage is limited (39% of species, according to the app), but in practice it looks a lot like zero percent.
