After the last main update (with the introduction of the camera rectangle), selection of just the stars was not possible, on my iPhone 6 as well on my iPad Air. Holding the press time did not work.
All other objects (deep sky, rockets etc) were selectable, and very fast.
After a complete reinstall of the app - with all catalogs newly installed - all went well!

A truly wonderful app with dense amounts of data and stunning 3D views from within outer space. Great to show my kids around the sky!
