Dictionary.com: English Words

For me the most useful dictionary when I’m travelling and in need of a translation. Unfortunately I the app showing a white screen that doesn’t disappear after starting the app. So the usefulness has taken a break

The app is good. However I paid for no adds one time. And now it is no longer an option to restore purchases. Leaving me with adds again…

I like the new design and the app seems to be running more smoothly now but I hope you're still working on improvements. Many words no longer have definitions

Paid for different options but im still getting ads and the layout in the app for the smartphone is horrible. I feel duped.

I used this dictionary every day, I paid for the off line use as in my line of work I don’t always have connection. And it helped me tremendously with improving my English. Now it cannot be used off line and you cannot click back to the search results, but you have to submit the word every single time. Please let us have access to the content when off line. But I feel compelled to download another one. What a pity.

I used to love the Dictionary.com app and paid for extra dictionaries. A few days ago I opened the app, only to find it riddled with adverts. One has to wade through the ads to find the content. Then, under Settings, I found that all kinds of tracking cookies are used by default.
Why can’t companies ever refrain from ruining a perfectly good app?

This app is so good, it helped me and my brother understand a lot more words. This app is sustainable for everyone

The app stability has been fixed. So the app works great again and is very useful.

Stop asking EVERY SINGLE TIME I open the app. A dictionary app doesn't need notifications. Ruins my day. I've already completed every in-app purchase as well so as to not be disturbed by ads and stuff.

It tells me the words, and other words for the words. Very helpful, incredibly so.

As a writer I have used a paperback thesaurus for many years. When I came across this app I hesitated, then finally after spending a long time weighing up the pros and cons, I took the plunge.
To my surprise, it has speeded up my searches for words both well-known or obscure to dizzying heights -so much so, I bought the whole package. Needless to say, it has definitely helped me improve my craft!

Heavy application, the phone warms up, the battery drains quickly. Also, it works slowly, the search sometimes lasts 5-7 seconds. Previously, this was not the case. I use it on iPhone 11

I haven't been able to use the listen function for a while now. I have no clue what is up. I've tried deleting and redownloading the app, but that doesn't seem to help. Is anyone else having the same problem?
Other than that, great app!

Paid for the offline dictionary but an error keeps popping up that won’t allow me to download.
“Error while communicating with server. Please try again after some time.”

Look; I get that you have costs to cover, and I don't mind some ads here and there to use something for free. - But ads that pop over the app and in your face are just obnoxious and rather infuriating. What is this, the '90s? - And then they're time too, which honestly just makes me want to close the app. - Please, if you can, remove the pop-up ads and just leave it at the bars and such. It just makes me want to use it less and I'm actually LESS likely to consider paying for it. The same goes for the prompts that are trying to convince me to go with the "pro" version. - People don't want to get bothered and nagged to annoyance, so be smart and think about how you treat people or present yourselves.

It's really useful because it gives you word help but also gives fun and interesting quizzes or lists of words you wouldn't have thought of. Really cool

In the beginning the so seems to work well, after some time of usage it turns out having quite done inconsistencies, providing faulty translations, purchasable upgrade that do not work after all, offline dictionary also doesn't work after installing the offline package ! please fix these crucial things that make this app useable, please fix these things that make this app useable,
