Canary Mail – AI Email

Deze app is prima geschikt voor iOS. Geen poespas maar duidelijk en strak weergegeven. Aanrader.

Heb heel veel geprobeerd, maar deze app is vanaf het begin, voor mij nog steeds de beste!

The app without warning tries to setup mail accounts with “Push” by default without warning you about the caveat that this transmits your password to their servers, you need to manually select “advanced” and switch push to fetch *before* creation or the app instantly sends your extremely sensitive data to Canary.
Moreover, this app is completely useless for its primary function. It downloads only one month worth of email headers with no way to change that. Their FAQ claims “you can still search email”. Not true, you can only search what it has encountered before; so anything you received more than 30 days before starting to use Canary will not be accessible at all nor can you find it with Search.
This is by far the most useless mail client I have used over the years and am also going to have to change my password just to be sure as I don’t trust that they haven’t stolen it the moment the app tried to verify my IMAP and SMTP settings whilst not having been set to “fetch” yet. Incredibly lame.

Ik zou graag een refund willen omdat ik nu canary op éen platform heb, ik wil graag de versie kopen waarmee ik op meerdere plekken canary kan gebruiken.
Vanzelfsprekend wil ik niet onnodige kosten maken. Ik heb een request refund gedaan bij apple. Wat verder te doen?

In de basis een goed programma alleen nog vol met bugs. In iOS opent die regelmatig geen attachments. pas als je re-index doet. Maar na een dag weer het het zelfde probleem.
Desktop versie haalt vaak geen mail binnen pas als je het programma herstart laad die de nieuwe mails in.

Heel goed, ik heb de Pro, in het begin al aangeschaft. Het blijft voor mij nog steeds de beste app voor email! Ziet er ook nog eens mooi uit!

Useful app. However, when I tap the ‘unread’ (blue check marks) filter option and open a mail, it doesn’t automatically mark it as unread.

I am so tired of this app. I have over 15 email accounts, I am paid subscriber to Canary desktop and mobile. The app doesn’t deliver everything, but I sure receive ALL of my junk mails without issue! The so-called For You tab gets me emails from my mother and some other, but rarely do I receive ANY business related emails.
And there is no way to train Canary to add certain important emails to the so-called For You. I am going back to Outlook, perhaps now with OpenAI they will have gotten email right. I’ve tried all the email apps, everything has some horrible quirk, but this has been a horrible 6 months for me and Canary!
It’s recommendations are asinine, recommending people I never responded to and ignoring the contacts I frequently use.
The way it formats email threads to others is one of the other horrible features too!

Canary Mail is an innovative email app that provides a host of AI-powered features to make email management easier. The star of the show is AI Sidekick, Canary's built-in AI assistant. Sidekick can write emails for you; just tap the magic wand and tell it what you want to say. I found the AI-generated emails were well-written, polite, and got the message across effectively. This is a huge timesaver when you need to send quick responses or follow-ups.
Another handy AI feature is email summarization. For long email threads, Canary will summarize the key points so you can get the gist without reading every message. The AI also helps prioritize your inbox by highlighting important emails and muting notifications from low-priority senders. Overall, the AI capabilities make email feel smarter and more manageable.
However, Canary does have some limitations around filtering and organization. Unlike some email apps, you can't create custom folders or filters based on senders, keywords, etc. I also couldn't find a way to get notifications for emails by skipping the inbox and going to default folders. So you need to manually check folders to make sure you don't miss anything.
But the AI features more than make up for these shortcomings, in my opinion. Having an AI assistant handle mundane email tasks is a huge productivity boost. In my opinion, much more AI integration would make this program hard to beat. Think of: Smart filtering, better email writer (option to insert your own OPEN AI API key for example) If you want a smart email manager that can actually write emails for you, Canary Mail is a great choice. The AI integration sets it apart from most other options out there. I would recommend giving Canary a try to experience the AI magic for yourself!

De Canary Mail app wijkt wat mogelijkheden betreft duidelijk af van andere bekende mail apps. Zo gaat het werken met PGP bijna vanzelf, de privé sleutel wordt automatisch opgehaald uit bijvoorbeeld Mailfence. Tracking pixels worden keurig uit mailtjes gehaald en juist door Canary toegevoegd aan mailtjes die je zelf uitstuurt zodat je kunt zien wanneer je mailtje wordt gelezen. En dat niet op de ouderwetse manier met een leesbevestigingsmail, maar met een popup en een oproepbaar overzicht. Het AI gedeelte werkt heel goed, ook in het Nederlands. Een samenvatting van een lange tekst is zo voor je gemaakt, net als een reply. De assistent is heel handig, bijvoorbeeld om snel mailtjes op te zoeken. Zo bespaart het AI gedeelte je gewoon echt tijd. Canary Mail is een ervaring waaraan je moet wennen en waarvoor je even moet gaan zitten om de instellingen door te lopen. Een regelrechte aanrader, en al helemaal als je voor de betaalde versie gaat.

This app has a lot of potential, but there are too many bugs to use it as a main email app. I bought this and tried using it as my main email app for the last few months, but there are so many small and large bugs. Mail taking forever to reload, lots of “unable to move mail” errors when archiving/snoozing, tapping one email but it instead opening a different email in the preview, weird behaviour around drafts and trying to continue editing a draft email.
The last straw for me was when I was working on a large email in draft. I opened my email the next day and could see the email with a blue dot beside it in draft, but part of the text of the subject was missing. Tapping the mail just opened a blank preview with no way to view or edit my email. The mail is gone now, I have been unable to recover it.
There has been too many similar bugs in this app, so I’m moving back to Apple mail unfortunately.

In general I’m happy with this email program. However more often than not when I delete one or multiple mails they don’t delete but appear in my mailbox again. This is very annoying.

Ik heb deze mail app gekocht en was onder de indruk van deze app goed snel en duidelijk goed aan te passen en ziet er ook nog eens mooi uit dus helemaal top

Canary Mail vertaalt de tekst letterlijk van Engels naar een soort steenkolen Nederlands. Ook worden er op bepaalde plaatsen geen hoofdletters gebruikt waardoor de app er heel rommelig uit komt te zien.

Wanted to try out this lovely app. Because they said I would get 30 days to try it out I “ bought” the subscription. But I was charged immediately. Not cool at all. Therefore two stars. Be aware everybody.

Ik heb deze mail gekocht maar ik ben onder de indruk van deze mail app wat is deze mooi bij na een verplichte aanschaft en zeker 5 sterren waard

Looked for a mail client that supports pgp. Using this app daily for a year now. Very happy with it.

Wat een afzetters de licentie is maar voor 1 apparaat hen het op Mac gekocht en moet het voor mijn iPad/iPhone opnieuw kopen, afzetters!
