Amazon Kindle: Reading App

After multiple calls with Amazon and even deleting an account, I am still unable to sign in to the Amazon kindle on my iPad. Despite being able to sign in multiple times in various other devices, this particular app simply gives me the “incorrect password” error. The organization clearly has no idea what is wrong and have simply told me to download the app again and again with no results. For books I have paid for, it’s shocking I cannot access them, especially since I use my iPad to study.

I started wearing glasses ten years ago in my process of growing older and wiser so books became more or less a sleeping pill. Thanks to my kindle, I now peruse many samples (which is also such a blessing) and buy more conscientiously. It is better than a TV or Phone. Now, I continue to live in style.

De app schakelt niet vanzelf uit helaas dus als ik in slaap val word ik ergens wakker met het scherm nog aan midden in de nacht. Waarom is dit en waarom is er geen optie automatisch afsluiten? Bij alle apps sluit de telefoon vanzelf uit alleen bij kobo dus niet. Daarom dus maar 1 ster omdat ik dat echt zo storend vind.

Two problems with recent updates:
1) I read on the kindle app while having an external keyboard connected, to navigate and make notes. I used to click the right arrow on my external keyboard to go to the next page (and the left arrow to go back). This no longer works. Why was this functionality removed?
2) All headings are now hyperlinks in many books. I use readwise and highlight chapters, marking them with tags so they show up in readwise as headings. This no longer works since clicking on any word in a chapter title immediately brings up a navigation menu with the table of contents. Can we have our previous behavior back, please? Just text as headings. If I want to go to another chapter, I will click the page anywhere, followed by the appropriate navigation button.

Frequently stops in the middle of reading, asks for re-start which is hard to manage

Kindle app is far useless… without comic store inside app. Far useless… Score 1 of 10.

I use kindle daily and enjoy all the features.
However, there has been a problem with the columns since iPad OS 26, and this continues in 26.2 and after updating to the latest kindle version.
When in 2-column mode in landscape, the app goes back to 1 column when I switch to another app and return to the kindle app. The setting is still set on 2 columns, but the screen goes to 1 columns. This can only be solved by turning the iPad to portrait mode and switching back to landscape.
Can you please fix this bug?

Voor heen kon je boeken onderverdelen in gepersonaliseerde categories, en dit kan nu niet meer jammer genoeg, zou fijn zijn als deze weer toegevoegd word.

Very stupid that u cant buy books from the app. I think even the amazon app doesnt allow it. Absolutely ridiculous. You have to go to the browser version to purchase! How can the user experience of a tech company be so incredibly bad?

Prachtig mooie app met veel mooie functies zoals hele pagina's tegelijkertijd vertalen.

I love that I can switch from my kindle to my Kindle app on my iPhone as I go in the public transport or somewhere I did not bring my kindle. It’s super easy to use!

Generally a good app, but the latest update does not work well in iPadOS 26: when switching between apps, the layout in the kindle app goes back to one column, and I have to rotate my device to portrait, then to landscape to get the 2 columns back. The layout setting remains at 2 columns, and changing the setting does not even help. Please fix!

I highlight a lot, both in the iPad app and the mac app. A recent change in the highlight behavior has not been an improvement. Clicking once used to be enough, and the app remembered the color setting. Now, however, every time I choose text, I have to click twice on the highlight color. Please bring back the old highlight behavior: click once for a highlight. If we want to choose another color, we can click twice.

Ik had een boek gekocht, het verscheen in mijn bibliotheek dus het fragment verwijderd, echter toen verdween automatisch ook het betaalde boek ! 10 euro weggegooid, met geen mogelijkheid het boek weer kunnen terugvinden. Nooit meer koop ik ebooks via Amazon.

Ik las boeken via Kobo, de tegenhanger van Kindle. Helaas geeft deze app geen mogelijkheid om aan te geven waar je in het boek gebleven bent. Ja, er is een ezelsoortje, maar dat werkt dus niet. Heel erg irritant. Bij Kindle functioneert het wel. Dus adieu Bol en hallo Amazon.

Unfortunately, after a recent update, all my Audible audiobooks have disappeared from the Kindle app on macOS and iOS.
Thankfully, my Kindle books are still there, but since the update, Whispersync is no longer working.

Kindle provides an excellent way of acquiring and reading e-books with profound ease. The choice of books is overwhelming. It has been already for years on end my favorite e-book platform. Please continue your excellent service!
