Great bird app, my favorite! I was bummed that the latest version crashed on startup, but the team came with a fix a couple of days later!

Sad that there are so many extra costs to see the videos and maps. App costs already 18 euros, but to get it completely working you need to pay 30 euros more, making it 50 euros in total!

I’ve used the previous version for years, loved it. But the new version just isn’t intuitive anymore.
One of the best features was the ‘View similar species’ function. This function now isn’t easily accessible anymore and when you do select it it doesn’t include the bird from which you want to see similar species. Very annoying and no longer usable in the field.
Why doesn’t the logo take you back to the start anymore?
Can I get my 2nd edition back?

I loved this app, but the update is full of new bugs: - my lists are gone (I put a lot of work in this! and no, I have no iCloud)
- it’s impossible now to compare birds, the new hidden compare function just doesn’t work, that was just such a fantastic tool.
Is this the way to make me upgrade for €10?

I would like to be able to select text in the app to be able to use iOS build in function to ‘look up’ a word to find its meaning. This is especially important because only bird names can be set to Dutch.
I would like to be able to use the app in landscape orientation. Especially when comparing birds.
I would bring the last picture of the introduction about 4 paragraphs down.

I can’t save my sightings anymore. Is I save them the next time when I open the app they are gone! This is very frustrating.

A very great app for bird detemination. But the grey texts are hardly readable without glasses. The developers should tweak the app so older birders are able to enlargen the fontsize.
Furthermore, I’d recommend the developers to enable users to use dark mode.

I would like to export my observations with coordinates or directly to observation.org!

Heel handige en overzichtelijke vogel app. Jammer dat niet alle informatie in Nederlands is te lezen. Dus daarom 4 sterren ipv 5.

Not possible to restore my purchases! Message: more space required. But there is more space then required ! How to solve this problem on my mini-iPad?

Wilde deze app al eerder downloaden maar dat kon/kan alleen op iPhone. De volledige gids nu dus op de telefoon. Overzichtelijk en heeft een fijne, snelle navigatie waarbij de platen, teksten, verspreidingskaarten, geluiden en video's (aparte downloads via camerasymbool onderaan een willekeurig geselecteerde soort) vlot te selecteren zijn. Een enkel cosmetisch foutje zoals het tonen van een Engelse vogelnaam i.p.v. geselecteerde Nederlandse vogelnamen (bijv. Sandwich Tern vs Grote Stern) mag de pret niet drukken. Superapp wat mij betreft.

This update changes all your lists from checklists (where a species can only exist ones on a list) into sighting-lists. But these are two separate things. You used to be able to not only see at a glance if a species was on your life-list but also, by tapping on the list symbol, see if it was on any other lists. If you've gone through the trouble of placing all the species you've seen in checklist per country or area that's all lost now. You can no longer see if a species is already on a list except from scrolling through it and search for it manually (they're on chronological order and there's no search field!). And since you can't specify any export formats they're now utterly useless imho.

Beste vogel & naslag app die ik heb gezien. Zeer compleet, goede duidelijke tekeningen en erg goede mogelijkheden om op allerlei criteria te zoeken en te vergelijken. Filmpjes (in app aankopen) zijn goede toevoeging. App suggereert een NL 'taal instelling' maar dit betreft slechts vertaling van een deel (hoezo niet alle ?) van de individuele vogelnamen. Ook soortnamen en textjes zijn niet vertaald zodat goede kennis vd engelse taal een vereiste is om de app nuttig te kunnen gebruiken. Vandaar de 3 sterren, verder Top.

By far de beste gids voor de iPhone/iPad. NL namen kunnen beter, maar verder top!

Still no video playback after latest update.....on iPhone 5S with most recent iOS!

Mooie app, werkt snel en het zoeken en vergelijken werkt goed. Kwaliteit van de afbeeldingen en geluiden is goed. Klein puntje is dat niet alle vogelnamen in het Nederlands zijn als je de taal op Nederlands zet.
