No challenges, no real game progress

In this game you collect coins, but there nothing you can do with them. No shop where you can buy upgrades or anything. What's the point in collecting them then? In the App Store it is mentioned that there'll be tons of challenges, but so far I've just been tapping and that's it. The rank you're in means nothing for the game itself, it only shows that you've played it a lot. Feels more like a setback from the Tap the Frog games if anything.
