Carly — OBD2 car scanner

Carly is op zich goed systeem. Maar LET OP….
Carly werkt met een jaarabonnement welke stilzwijgend wordt verlengd. Niet op tijd, via onduidelijke omweg, opgezegd…? Dan zit je er weer een jaar aan vast.

Cost me more than €100,- and resulted in a broken TV function in my 2020 5 series. Very dangerous app that van break your cars functions, recommend to not use this.

I am very dissapointed with this product. After watching a how-to video on YouTube about replacing and registering a new battery in my BMW, I decided to purchase the Carly app and OBD scanner.
Unfortunately, after replacing the battery, I was unable to register it using the app. I kept receiving an error message, no matter what I tried. After doing some research on various online forums, I discovered that this issue has been reported by users since at least 2021 and still has not been resolved.
Because I could not register the battery, I had no choice but to start the car using the old battery settings. This resulted in a control module in the car being damaged, which will cost €600 to repair.
In short: because Carly has failed to fix a known issue that has existed for years (but still markets the feature on their website), I am now facing unnecessary repair costs. I am not satisfied with this product and will definitely not renew my annual subscription.

Bij het maken van mijn account was het mij niet duidelijk dat jaarlijks 150 euro afgeschreven zou worden. Ik heb de algemene voorwaarden geaccepteerd en daarom mogen zij dat gewoon innen. Zonet, een jaar later, is 150 euro afgeschreven. Ik was dat abonnement totaal vergeten, heb in de tussentijd geen herinnering gehad en ik krijg het geld nu niet meer terug. Waardeloze service.

I needed a new scanner so gave Carly a try after seeing the many good reviews. Unfortunately the software of Carly is missing major functionality in the most extended subscription. After 3 weeks of trying with Carly support I got an email saying they are aware this function is missing (reset service interval).
Of course after 3 weeks it is not possible to get a refund.

I bought the device, activated the needed one-year subscription it requires to function, used a couple of times to diagnose my car had at that time and forgot about it. One year later, the subscription renewed automatically and the customer service wouldn’t revert that stating that I should have asked for a cancellation at least one month before. Shady practice! Be aware of it and don’t waste money like I did. I don’t even have the car to use the subscription anymore as I sold it.

Om de adapter te kunnen gebruiken moet je wel een abonnement waar je voor moet blijven betalen. Heb je dit abonnement niet heb je helemaal niets aan de adapter. Zodra je iets wilt dien komt eerst de melding dat je het abonnement af moet sluiten. Abonnement weer afzeggen? Zie de reviews hier.
Oplichting van de bovenste plank er er zijn veel goedkopere opties waarvoor je geen abonnement hoeft af te sluiten. Trap er niet in!

De dongel en app werken prima. Echter de jaarlijkse betaling en opzegging daarvan is waardeloos. Netjes opgezegd bij Carly zoals op de website staat vermeld en toch schrijven ze weer geld af voor een verlenging. Ik koop nooit meer bij dit bedrijf. Communicatie met het bedrijf is ook belabberd.

After re-purshasing this product it has come to my attention that my Vehicle type is not supported. Trying to contact the support desk, but its impossible to reach a human being.. E-mails fails to deliver and the company stays silent. Again this company fails to deliver and customer support is even worse.

Be aware - not all cars work even though you select your car from the list there is no guarantee it works. When purchasing the app and finally received the scanner the error “Unfortunately no compatible ECUs for coding were found.
We're currently working with highest priority on adding coding for the newer models as well. Please visit our current Carly Project Page, to get more information.” Basically my Audi has additional security features which blocks access to by the scanner and app. This is not made clear ahead. Asking for a refund for the following “
I am sorry to inform you that we cannot refund you the scanner. In the Premium Package the scanner is included for free alongside the Carly Features in the app. Basically, you have unlocked the Carly Features for an annual fee and received the scanner for free (please review your invoice).
A refund for the Carly Features (app license) is no longer possible either, as the right to cancel is lost once the Carly Features have been acquired.”

Alles lijkt erop dat je een eenmalige betaling moet doen. Niets is minder waar, ze schrijven zonder te vragen of aan te melden na een jaar gewoon weer af. Baal echt van dit bedrijf.

Beloven veel, uiteindelijk kan je zeer weinig. Omslachtig, niet user frendly. Bovendien geven ze zichzelf het recht op een automatische afschrijving bij Paypal. Je voelt je opgelicht. Doe NIET mee aan deze gehypte dongel. Gebruik zelf bijna dagelijks andere OBD2 tools, maar deze kan je echt beter skippen.

Wat een waardeloos app is dit zeg. 1 x gebruikt en gelijk mijn schuif/kanteldak kapot van me Volvo xc40. Betaal je dan 50 euro voor. Voor de rest kan je helemaal niks aanpassen wat wel moet kunnen(zeggen
Ze).
Vul je een hele brief met veel vragen in moet je een filmpje van je scherm (app)maken die niet te uploaden is. En wordt je niet geholpen.
Echt een waardeloze service.
Apple zou echt eens goed moeten kijken voordat ze apps zoals deze goedkeuren.

After the new version of the app I don’t see modeltype Evoque in the RangeRover list ?

Zelfs fout codes uitlezen en wissen kost nu een abonnement.. eerder best handig maar nu volledig zinloos voor de normale eigenaar. Je gaat niet maandelijks betalen om 1x per jaar een beurt te doen.

Do not buy! They make you pay a subscription for a year, which is quite superficial and useless, and after a year, they make you pay again, even you already had cancelled you subscription well on time. After a message to their customer service, the only answer I get is: we do not do refunds! A real scam!

100,- licentie dan je kastje nog! Vervolgend wifi verbinding problemen bij het leven! Niks stabiel! Verbindingen vallen constant weg! 21min voor uitlezen met 100.000 problemen! Beter koop je handheld
