The app is great. The math is done for you, you can add supplemental workouts as needed or create your own program; but I’ve stuck with the 5x5 program as a beginner. I love the form instructions in the app and the weight math is done for you, both in terms of what you need to load on the bar, and in terms of progression and eventual failure.
I’d recommend the premium subscription to anyone looking to start lifting weights at the gym as it makes it easy to keep track of your progress and does all the math for you. If you have an Apple Watch it’s super helpful too because you can log the reps right on the watch.
